3:24- There are conflicting thoughts on which Godzilla suit this is. Some articles have said Godzilla vs Biollante. Knowyourmeme writes that its a BTS from Godzilla vs Mothra and then later in the same entry, it says it's a BTS from Godzilla vs Biollante. Some sources I trust firmly believe it's from Godzilla vs Destoroyah. I can't confirm any of these to be 100% accurate without knowing the original place the photo was published, but it's worth mentioning that I may have been inaccurate in attributing it to Godzilla vs Biollante.

There's a bit more context to the original image used in the "Godzilla had a stroke trying to read this" meme that I wish more people would acknowledge because it's absolutely insane. What happened was that during the filming of Godzilla vs Mothra in '92, the then GhidoGoji suit (the BioGoji suit having been upgraded for Godzilla vs King Ghidorah) was STOLEN from TOHO. However, some time later it was found on the shore of Lake Okutama and was put in a wheelbarrow to be sent back to TOHO. That very image used in the meme is of the found GhidoGoji suit being sent back for restoration and use in Godzilla vs Mothra for the more suit-intensive shots that the new BatoGoji suit couldn't be used in. But the part of all this that I think is the most interesting is that not only did they never find out who stole THIS suit, the 84Goji suit used in The Return of Godzilla was ALSO stolen and not only did they never find out who stole THAT suit either, they never even found it. Some cheeky guy stole a Godzilla suit and GOT AWAY WITH IT. So for a period of time the 84Goji suit was very likely somewhere out there in the world... but now it's probably been reduced to no more than dust.

@@MonsterIslandBuddies According to Wikizilla it's mentioned in A Critical History and Filmography of Toho's Godzilla Series by David Kalat, but I can't attest to that since I haven't read it (yet) but, there's a few videos about it, one being an American news report from 1992 (www .youtube. com/watch ?v=saEZF59S2sM) and the other being a Japanese news report (www .youtube. com/watch ?v=tCPYcK7jvOg) Just to be sure, I put periods in the URLs of the videos so that (hopefully) it doesn't register the links so just remove the periods and that should (also hopefully) do the trick! Edit: Nope, still shows up as links. Ok, I put a space after the "watch" in both links so hopefully THAT will work Edit 2: Still registers. Alright, now I put two more spaces after the "www", here goes! Edit 3: Oh my god. OK, now I put spaces after the "youtube." in the links so HOPEFULLY now it shouldn't register as links to youtube videos.

This isn't the 1989 Biogoji costume. This is the 1995 Desugoji costume for "Godzilla vs. Destroyer." If you look at the shape of the head, you'll see it does not match that of the Biogoji but more importantly, if you look at Godzilla's chest, shoulder, stomach, and thighs, you can see the "burning" blotches where the lights were installed. The 1984 Godzilla suit was not stolen. Teruyoshi Nakano took it to North Korea with him and turned it into Pulgasari. Or maybe Nakano "technically" stole it by not telling Toho. At any rate, It became Pulgasari.

@@ConstantineFurman But the suit was stolen in 1992, before the Desugoji suit, or even the Mogegoji suit was created, so it couldn't have been the Desugoji suit. Furthermore, the "blotches" is damage to the suit, if you look at Godzilla's tail in the image you can see that the bottom is practically missing the outermost black layer. Although we don't know the story of what happened to the suit during its absence, given the damage it may have been on the shore of Lake Okutama for some time. As for the part about 84Goji getting turned into Pulgasari, although I've heard whispers about it online in the past (although I can't really remember where, it's been some time) I haven't been able to find any information or sources about it.

I actually met the three Ghidorah actors at a local con in October 2019, and took a photo of them recreating the Kevin meme, even pairing it alongside the original image (crediting and tagging the artist who drew the pic in the first place). The artist, Michael J. Larson, even replied on Twitter saying… “This makes me so happy. I can sincerely die happy now.” Follow by a gif of a tearfully smiling Steve Carell.

The first Godzilla meme I can remember, was a re edit of that weird photo that was going around in the days following 9/11 where a guy in glasses and beanie is getting picture taken on the observation deck of the WTC and a jet is photo shopped behind him as if he was there as it happened. When I was in college in 2002, my friend sent me that image but with Godzilla instead of a plane.

The Godzilla in a wheelbarrel is actually Toho recovering the suit from a river near an old lady's house, after it was stolen.

It isn't. That happened in 1992. That is an image of the 1995 Desugoji suit from "Godzilla vs. Destroyer." Peep the blotches where lights were installed to create the burning effect. The stolen one was the Biogoji/Gidogoji suit which doesn't look much like this one.

Several Weeks Later, An Old Lady Found The Suit On A Tokyo Beach. It Was Then Brought Back To Toho Just In Time For Filming. The Picture Is Probably The Suit Being Wheeled Back To Toho.

I'm still amused on how the left head of King Ghidorah who's one of the most dangerous and sadistic kaiju to ever exist in the Godzilla mythos is just called Kevin and at times I'd often associate him with Kevin from the SpongeBob episode I'm Your Biggest Fanatic.

It only applies to the Monsterverse Ghidorah. It doesn't apply to the other Toho King Ghidorahs. No one in Japan is calling the 1964 Ghidorah's left head "Kebin."

The Godzilla stroke meme is truly the bane of my existence. In 2020 I had a really bad stroke that left me disabled (I was watching a Gamera film at the time) and I always get reminded on that terrible night everytime I see that shitty meme. It isn't even funny. There are much better captions you could do for that meme that don't make people who had medical incidents feel like shit.

As bad as the execution was, at least the Prequels tried to take the series in a new direction. They also benifited by having a somewhat cohesive narrative under a singular vision, flawed as it was. The Sequels were just an attempt to cash in the nostalgia of the OT. That devolved into a grudge match over which direction to take the trilogy between its two directors, who had their own vision for each film. Utterly lacking a cohesive narrative between any 3 movies.
