How dare you dislike this movie! I shall curse you with pineapple pizza for eternity! No matter what food you eat it will look like and taste like pineappl...wait what? you actually love this film?! never mind! Put the joke aside, I Saw this film last night in Dolby and I would definitely put this film in my top 5 Godzilla film. I agree with your views and grading. I did actually started to cry in a scene where Godzilla approached the train and you heard his theme and tbh so did GA in my group last night. (There were 50 people which unusually in my local AMC) I can't not wait to see this again later this weekend and get this bad boy on Blu-ray.

Toho makes money off of the monsterverse as well and they also are involved with the monsterverse as well

I disagree with your opinions on the Monsterverse, but that's okay. Lots of people don't like the Monsterverse, which makes me sad because I love those movies lol But yeah, Minus One is just a spectacle. Best movie of 2023!

Also, definitely watch Shin Godzilla if you get around to it. That one is pretty good, not as good as this one though. I'd say Shin is a little more boring at parts, but it's otherwise a pretty good film

This is what respecting the fans and what they want with a desire to entertain can achieve. Doing it for only $15m is an insane success.

With Japan point of view, respecting fans is a given, should not be a topic to even consider in conversation. It's just common sense to make money.

It’s incredible what they were able to showcase for just 15$ million dollars. I very much enjoyed this film. The human storyline is interesting too. I love how we can get a super serious Godzilla film and also get something that’s more of a fun action movie with the Monsterverse. That’s part of what I love about this series. You get a variety of different tones and styles at play. Setting this movie in post world war 2 Japan was a brilliant idea. You really feel the heavy weight of each scene. This is a very depressing Godzilla movie. But it really works in the movie’s favor. Loved the score, how Godzilla was utilized and even the ambiguous ending. Very powerful stuff.

I didn't think it dragged at all, but I am a huge fan of kdramas and love how they let stories breath from time to time and don't always feel like it has to be non-stop action. I loved this movie and will be taking a few of my grown up kids this weekend.

I saw it twice in early screenings on Wednesday. Will see it again in IMAX. Sadly, the Dolby Cinema here isn't showing it. I liked Shin Godzilla, but Godzilla Minus One blows it out of the war. And for the record, I like the Universal Godzilla movie. They are dumb fun. But Minus One has heart. The story just draws you in.

I don’t think I’m going to get the biggest screen due to our local cinemas will do it. Most likely occupied by some Disney poop. I am expecting a kaju movie so it’s not supposed to be perfect. I am happy this is getting well received

Super excited for this one. Probably my most anticipated film of the year I have really enjoyed the Monsterverse movies overall but agree with Odin there is too much of the uninteresting human stories. Will never forgive them for the dumb part where they defat Mecha Godzilla by pouring some alcohol on the control panel 🙄 I LOVE the Goji design in this one at least visually from what I’ve seen. Wonder if this will be a one off - going to see this for sure.

Odin, I didn't watch the whole video because I didn't want spoilers. I think it's really cool that you acknowledge comments on your videos and so many content creators don't.

It was great overall, especially the Godzilla stuff. The ending to the human story was a cop-out though. One of my pet peeves is giving a character a dramatic death, only to tack on a hospital scene at the end that’s like “Just kidding! Somehow I survived.” Undermines the stakes, drama and dilemma caused by the loss. They didn’t do that with Dr. Serizawa which is why that original Godzilla film is a masterpiece. Still, other than that and a few other minor issues it was great. So much better than most of the garbage being put out these days by Disney and other studios

Did you not see what was on her neck? That’s what saved it in the dramatic department

@@OMBReviews What was on her neck? Bandages? Maybe I missed it when I rolled my eyes at that part. Sorry but no one survives what she did. It didn’t ruin the film but it was very corny and took me out of the movie

@@rbp9773 Thanks. Makes it a bit better that there were consequences, but I still can’t buy the idea that she lived and still had all her limbs and everything. Makes me wonder if those other 30,000 deaths from that attack all survived too
This entire movie was made at the budget of the opening 5 minutes of THE MARFAILS or THE FLUSH!!!!!! Honestly mate when this movie looks incredible

I disagree with the points of it "dragging" personally I felt it flowed well through. I will also add that I liked the message so to speak of to embrace life, to not squander it and live on. Kind of what is repeated and that life is sacred. They bring that up with the design of their fighter jets vs the US which has ejection seats. Also that people should not rely on some "big government" to swoop in and protect them but the people, the communities to take care of one another and protect the homeland. All good, I just will say I did not like the VERY end stuff and I think it's those things that the movie is just bugging me. I say a lot more in my own review/stream. But yeah its a great film overall and I definitely enjoyed it. It towers over Shin Gojira and yeah the Legendary flicks I'll agree.
@OMBReviews10 ай бұрын
It dragged but that doesn’t mean you have to hate it or dislike it
@thefracturedfilter10 ай бұрын
@@OMBReviews I'm confused, because I didn't think I implied anything of "having to hate or dislike it" I was just saying that I personally disagreed with the "dragging" point. Maybe my fault for pluralizing "points" but I don't think I gave the impression of needing to hate or dislike the movie over that. Am I misunderstanding something? 😅 I then just ranted about my own thoughts on the movie haha
