My delayed review for the newest addition to the Godzilla mythos. One of the most incredible cinematic experiences I've ever had, this is the Godzilla movie I was waiting for since the end of the Hesei series in 1995. .

Hope everyone had a great Christmas Day. Have seen this movie with my siblings and we all agreed that it is one of the best Godzilla movie that has been released in the US. Really enjoy the direction Toho is going and hope Hollywood pays attention to how a movie is suppose to be. Keep up the great work and have a good new year.

I like most Godzilla movies that come out but dear God this goes WAY beyond a fun Kaiju films and invokes the importance of cinema and good art. I felt terror and pity and Awe as well as shedding a few tears and feeling my heart full of despair and hope while watching this film. One of the best films of the past decade.

Well said! Definitely a huge difference fundamentally with this one.

Just watched the movie, I like it a lot. Was surprised by the setting and liked the characters. (I did not even know there was a new Godzilla movie and did not watch the trailer, just saw that there is one on friday and went to see it today :) ) I don't mind the monster verse films, but for me this is probably the best of all those films I saw in the last 20 years. I still have to watch 54. I grew up with the 70 to 90s movies always running on tv, I just loved those too :D Maybe I don't have high expectations, but I loved those old ones a lot more than the newer ones, but this one was great, I'm glad that I went to watch it.

You are the first reactor I have seen mention that he was disappointed in the 2014 Godzilla because of the expectation of getting a movie like this one. I felt that the trailers were very misleading for 2014. The first teaser trailer where Godzilla comes up from the rubble of the destroyed buildings had me imagining that they had just dropped some powerful bomb on Godzilla at the end of the movie, expecting to have killed him only for him to rise and then head off into the ocean to come back another day. Then Bryan Cranston's dialog in the other trailers led me to believe that it would indeed be a serious 1954 style Godzilla movie. 2014 started off great but when they killed Bryan Cranston's character off (a dumb move) the movie went down hill, although Godzilla looked good and the Mutos were cool.

I am in alignment with you those were all my expectations at all. Godzilla seemed luke he was going to be a true threat to mankind.

What Godzilla Minus One has is it has no human antagonism, only people working towards a common goal.

If Godzilla Minus One not in English then it's trash and nothing beats the American Godzilla and the Old Japan real Godzilla movies
