The funny thing about Godzilla in this movie is that the soldiers that possess his body were killed or left behind to die by the Imperial Japanese Army during WWII. Apparently the movie's director, Shusuke Kaneko, wasn't exactly big on how Japan pretty much tries ignore their defunct Imperial army' actions during WWII and pretty much made a very violent and gruesome movie that kind of reflects just how pissed off the ghosts of WWII soldiers can be. Kind of ironic since Kaneko is a pacifist, yet made one of the more violent Godzilla movies.

When I first seen this movie, I also didn't like how King Ghidorah was the good guy, but when I viewed it the second time, I loved how they made him the good guy. It just seems strange at first. I'm pretty sure that's how people felt when Godzilla first became the good guy in Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster. It just takes some getting used to.

Godzilla has a regeneration factor. And had it since the Heisei era. G2000 isn’t the only film to have it. In fact Toho retconed all Godzilla’s having regeneration factors in their supplemental material. The healing speed varies depending on each incarnation. At the least it heals/regenerates his wounds within mere seconds and at best he can regenerate instantaneously. GMK Godzilla is immortal and sort of a zombie or ghost.

Absolutely Love this Movie & enjoyed the Review immensely GMK is my Second Favorite from both the Millennium Era & just Second Favorite Godzilla Movie in General as to me it felt like what a true Sequel to the Original Godzilla should've felt. Your not alone in being pissed & devastated over that Mothra was Killed in this Movie & very Brutally so but I felt it fit the theme of the Movie as Godzilla was a walking Tank of Death & Destruction & it was kinda shown that the other Kaiju weren't that powerful & in fact I think it was hinted that all 3 Kaiju were supposed to fight together to stop Godzilla but Baragon went on ahead too early & hopes of slowing Godzilla on his own for the others to catch up which he payed for dearly sadly & Mothra & King Ghidorah were on their own. Also I liked that Ghidorah got to play a different Role cause heck if Godzilla could be a good guy then I think Ghidorah has the right too as well, Also the Monster Designer who's favorite Kaiju was Varen when he heard it was being cut out he put Veran's design into Ghidorah's heads which I thought was very Cool. Also all it took for Decker to like Mothra was to Save a Puppy? & Finally I demend Decker Butt! XD

fun fact, they want to do Godzilla fighting Varon, Anguirus, and Baragon but when found if they had monsters that had not been seen in years appear they would lose some more money, so they scrapped Varan and Anguirus for both King and Mothra, Baragon was the only survivor of the changes, and I think there is an old prop of Anguirus statue that was going to be in the movie but was removed for the much more classic monsters

Idk why Creepy is upset about Mothra getting her ass kicked but that happened to her all the time by Godzilla. He killed her in Mothra vs Godzilla (1964). She never ever beat him. Larva's don't count as Mothra. Just her offspring. But Godzilla always beats Mothra.

Mothra died of old age and exhaustion in 1964, it's said before she even leaves the island that she'll be dead soon anyway and she'll use what she has left to try and drive Godzilla away. He barely even wounded her in that fight.

timemonkey Dude he burned her wings badly with his atomic breath. So yeah he did some damage. Also he killed her in GMK and in Tokyo SOS. He beat her more times than people claim she won. Again Larva don’t count as they are individually different kaiju. The only fight that counts as her win was Godzilla vs Mothra 1992 but she had help from Battra. But Godzilla killed Battra and all she did was drop them into the water. Nothinh special really.

Godzillas death is possible. The drill submarine went down Godzilla throat and into his stomach probably, and from there he drilled out of the stomach all the way out through the delicate wound on his shoulder. Godzillas atomic breath shoots up his throat, but because the first entrance out of the body now is the hole drilled from his stomach to the shoulder, the atomic breath instead comes out of there first.

Having only seen the dubbed version once, I'm not sure how badly it deviates from the actual storyline in the original Japanese. I've also seen three different subtitle translations - one from the original Laserdisc recording (I own a tape of that), the first DVD release, and the Blu-Ray release from a few years ago. The Laserdisc translation was more literal, and some of the Japanese slang words or idioms don't make a lot of sense. (Although, when the General in charge of the land/air attack on Godzilla finds out there's both a flying monster, and another from Mt. Fuji, he exclaims, "What is this?!? 'Monsters On Parade'??!" It's pretty priceless). The translation on the Blu-Ray is fairly accurate, and doesn't try to give the viewer the exact words being said, but the what the overall sentence was trying to convey. (Thus the 'Monsters On Parade' becomes, "What is this, a monster convention?") So, having stayed away from the English dub of the film, I think some of the points being raised in the review apply primarily due to a poor translation and sub-par voice acting. I'd be interested to see if the guys watch and review the Japanese language version also. I think it would a good thing to contrast the two versions. And yes, the title is awesome. (And awesomely long).

I think the main problem with this film is that it really doesn't fit with the Godzilla series. Aside from the obvious miscasting of Ghidorah and Mothra for the sake of marketability, the film is way more spiritual and mystical, where other Millenium era Godzilla films lean towards sci-fi and action.
