@@anonymousgoblin792 I don't think the gewunner insult makes sense for other franchises, other than Transformers. Godzilla doesn't have generations, it's relatively eras that are similar to Japan's eras. Ex: Showa, Heisei, Millennium, and Reiwa era Godzillas.

the kicker with this game was you beat the map with the satellite but then it drops you back to the map and I never think to select it again to transport to the next planet... bought it used and no manual and no internet to look it up. Loved the crazy imagery despite how bad I was at it.

Great video guys 😊 I finished this game because I needed closure. It took roughly 8 hours. The ending is unimpressive. I always thought Mothra was dropping larvae not wings. There were codes for this game that were very helpful if you wanted to finish the game quicker too. James is the king of Godzilla knowledge. Hands down.

I think Mothra is attacking with the scales shedding off its wings (the "spores" James mentioned), it just falls off the wings in a way that keeps the pattern somewhat intact.

9:04 I dunno if Mike will ever read this, but here we go. I had this game as well back as a kid and beat it after many, many hours. And those little things were the biggest danger you had to look out for in the entire game as Godzilla, they didn't really bother Mothra that much. The key to beating them was to make sure you held Godzilla's breath attack back for when they appeared, and you had to time it right that when you activated it, the entire time the breath animation played out the thing was soaking up the damage from it. There was always enough damage done in that case to be able to kill the little bastard before it would be able to make contact with you and get you caught in that damage-loop that finished you off.

I remember playing this game. I used a Game Genie to input infinite health and power, and just Atomic Breath'd my way through the game. It still took me a full afternoon to clear the game. I remember after you complete Pluto, you go to Planet X, which is basically just a boss rush. The map is super small, and every tile has a boss before you get to King Ghidora at the end.

Growing up Northeast of Albany NY, we got TV38 out of Boston and WGN out of Chicago. One or both of those would play Godzilla movies on Sundays and sometimes Saturdays. Definitely saw the Gargantuas movie, Son of Godzilla and Destroy all Monsters not to mention most of the early Godzilla movies from those channels.
