As much as viewers might dislike this, it's the right call. I don't care if it's your wife or your best friend. It gets old being around the same person all the time and gets to be too much like a business. You can tell they genuinely had fun because it was like a nostalgic get together on their own time. It's great to have the freedom to do your own thing.

THIS is the type of wholesome, awesome content that has been missing from the cinnemassacre channel. The channel needs you, Mike! I think the fan base always had love for you, but when you left, it became extremely evident how much of an impact you have on the content. Your absence really put things into perspective, for me at least, and I’m sure many others can echo this sentiment. I hope you and James keep in touch more often and we see a comeback from the greatest duo on earth 😆 do what makes you happy though Mike. That’s what matters most.

@@mayb7569 yeah, I did see a lot of unnecessary hate in the comments toward Mike… fu€ked up. I don’t blame him at all. None of us truly know the behind the scenes stuff either, like the financial side, or the differences they may have had when it comes to the direction they may have wanted the content to go in. There are probably personal reasons why Mike took a hiatus from things, and that’s why I was sure to add my last statements about putting his happiness first. I hope he goes back because as you said, he is the mastermind behind a huge portion of all the classic AVGN videos. Those who criticized Mike are probably the same ones now leaving comments about how James lost touch, and how much they hate Justin lol .. I laugh, but people take it too far with their comments..I’ve seen people say some REALLY fu€ked up sh!t about Justin. They’re entitled to their own opinions obviously, but they seem to forget that he’s human. That’s the internet for you I guess. But yeah, these people who left hate comments about Mike are most definitely the people who are always saying “I want the old AVGN”, and “this new AVGN has no passion behind it”.. and while I totally encourage Mikes return and i do think he adds a whole lot to the channel, I’d only want him to go back IF he truly wanted to… and I think it’s messed up how so many people ridicule the newer AVGN videos, because even if they aren’t quite as powerful and good as the older ones, James and the crew are still providing free content to the viewers and don’t deserve the hate, as if they owe anyone anything. James especially doesn’t deserve hate. The guy has been one of the few long term KZbinrs who hasn’t proven to secretly be a piece of sh!t in real life and hasn’t been exposed for any drama like so many other creators. My bad, I know my comment is ridiculously long, but last thing.. when I first started watching AVGN, I’ll be honest, at first I used to find Mike to be annoying 😆 I never left any hateful comments.. but I just didn’t necessarily care for him lol but I very quickly began to like him. He grew on me, like a cancer. Just kidding 😆 but he really did. I started to think he was hilarious and a really cool dude. Down to earth and authentic. Then I learned just how much of a factor he plays in the AVGN videos. The concepts, the writing/jokes, the props, etc etc And if anyone was ever in doubt of the level of importance and how much of a role Mike plays in the channel, I’m sure they were enlightened very quickly once he departed. Anyway, you are right, and I wouldn’t want Mike to become more involved again at the expense of his happiness. But he is missed.

I know you guys getting back together "regularly" is a pipe dream, and asking for it is silly. But man, seeing you guys back on the couch just playing a game like this is amazing. It doesn't feel produced or forced in the slightest. It's got the 2 close childhood friends, just sitting around playing a game, vibe to it. Or like late night college dorm room gaming session... It's one of the most real things on KZbin, especially in the video game genre. Where others try to force nostalgia, these two just shooting the shit playing a game, is pure nostalgia. +10 for not having to see, or hear that Silverman dude at any point in this. Probably why it's on Mike's channel and not Cinemassacre, as He'd have insisted on being involved... Probably sitting between the two, talking about stuff nobody wants to hear, and just in general interrupting good conversations. Derailing them every time any kind of momentum or humor was starting to build up. Alright, I'll just leave that where it's at.. Negative shit is no bueno.. But thanks again for getting the old duo back together. It's like seeing Jake and Elwood back in the bluesmobile one more time. I was a freshman in college when I first watched you guys.. And now I'm... Old. Lol, and the whole world has gone crazy. So it's great to have something that reminds me of much better days back on the old screen.

Truly cool to see James and Mike at another classic game. Gotta recommend a CastleVania fan game called CastleVania Kyukeysuki No Kirachimu. Edit: this is a crazy coincidence, but I just adapted the Superman and Doomsday story James is talking about at 35:32, Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey like 2 days ago. It's from 1994. I do voice acting and narration to condense the story without lessening it's impact. If anyone wants to check it out, here's the link, it's about an hour long but it's a great story. I been a constant viewer of cinemassacre since 2009. When the original J&M Monday 'Toe Jam and Earl' episode came out about 4 years later, it instantly became my favourite video on the whole channel. The fact it was 45 minutes long made it feel like christmas to me, time to give the game real focus, time for shit talk, conversations that branches off in random directions mingled in with team work about the current game ("you take that pizza! you need it more! get in the elevator! oh shit the bee's!") I was alone, but yeah it did make me feel like I was hanging out with a friend in my youth again playing co-op. I liked that in general about the show too, some obscure or forgotten games from yesteryear getting a moment in the spotlight decades later, and not some playthrough or speed run, not some quick 5 minute review, Like 2 people chatting throughout the game, a decent 40+ minute video for it Anyway I was really happy to see you go back to this particular game as it was my favourite J&M Monday episode, and when I saw it was double the length of the last one I was thrilled to bits! 😁
