I love how *TOHO* is both respectful and protective of *Godzilla.* They care about his well-being & his representation on screen and offscreen. *Warner Brothers* could learn a LOT from *TOHO* when it comes to protecting and RESPECTING their own characters like *Superman.* But instead they disrespect him at every turn and corner. Can you imagine if *TOHO* disrespected *Godzilla* at every turn and corner? It would be terrible for such a classic character. Too bad *WB* won't learn.

What did WB do to 'Disrespect'Godzilla?
@travelingjazzman1172 жыл бұрын
@@ThePmbstudios - Read it again. I never said WB disrespected *Godzilla.* What I did in fact say is that *WB* disrespects *Superman* whereas *TOHO* respects and protects *Godzilla.* Therefore, *WB* should learn from *TOHO* and respect *Superman.*

With some more tweaks this could have definitely worked and I agree it should have a serious tone inline with G2k. I like the parallels between a lot of these unmade films and the monsterverse

I've seen every Godzilla and 2000 is my favorite. The writing is excellent, no stupid humor. It had drama and lightness balanced perfect. The scene where Godzilla gets blasted back when first meeting the ship, then stands his ground is epic! I rate it #1 in all Godzilla meets other monster moments!!

Godzilla reborn sounds like a fun movie. It seemed like it would’ve been like a high budget showa fan-film. It makes me think it would have a similar direction and tone to Godzilla final wars.

With some tweaks it sounds very promising... although I liked for it to have a more serious undertone with some light hearted stuff sprinkled through out the film...like the legendary series and G2K

from what you've said about this movie concept, with Godzilla either dying or put into a coma, later 'waking up', either by cloning or from the coma, to fight another kaiju because the military wasn't strong enough was and still is a great idea for a Godzilla movie. for where to take place, it would be cool to see where 2000 left off with Godzilla walking into the sea after burning Japan because he sensed, and kaiju and the kaiju is on Hawaii and the US and Japanese militaries have to work together and with Godzilla to defeat it.
@creategreatness88232 жыл бұрын
A US Sequel to Godzilla 2000 with that same type of style and tone could have been awesome. Imagine...it also likely would have altered the course of the Millennium era. Toho wouldn't make/release a Toho Godzilla film the same year that a US produced film was to be released. So this movie, if it had come out in 2002 or 2003, would have basically took the place of whatever Toho Godzilla film that was made that year. It might have been a scenario where this movie came out in 2002, meaning Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla either never happened or was pushed to 2003. Then, if this film had been a hit, it might have gotten a sequel in 2004 for Godzilla's 50th anniversary. So it may have resulted in the 50th anniversary film being something entirely different from Final Wars.

Godzilla dying wouldn’t have made sense. Cuz he can regenerate all manor of injuries within seconds. And the military have 0 ways of beating him. So the idea was stupid. Toho made a good call to have the idea changed.

This would have been interesting! It's just a shame American movie makers and some audience members can only see kaiju films as a joke, plus there's always a tendency in American monster movies to kill the monster, rather than have it be an eternal threat that's higher on the food chain than us and it's something we have to accept. Definitely a difference in the humility of the Japanese outlook compared to America. It's good to see a lot of the ideas get used in the Legendary films.

The way these guys are describing what they did with Godzilla 2000 sounds exactly what was almost done with The Return of Godzilla a.k.a Godzilla 1985:The Legend is Reborn that they were trying to turn into a comedy film.

tbh I don't like the sound of Juanita being successful into defeating godzilla it makes the films boring or cringy or lame or cheesy. g2000 is suppose to b the unstoppable force of nature so I like my g2000 even more powerful then the comic books goji if its live action and even comic books to.

They also wanted actor Steve Martin to play a Godzilla expert named Raymond Burr. It would have been an amazing Easter Egg and tribute. Just imagine if this film had been made and been a hit? We would have gotten US and Japanese Godzilla Films released alongside each other. All good things in due time, as we are essentially getting just that kind of back-and-forth these days with the MonsterVerse and Toho productions.
