@@phantom0phoenix994 because of the removal of his hyper armor for a reason that's a complete non issue he's going to have the problem he had back before he had his first rework. He's just going to get lighted out of everything, his hyper armor was to combat that and it did, with the revert you can just light him out of his heavies and parry him once he dares to throw a light attack this problem is made exponentially more horrid with crushing counters. He now can't punish dodge attackers with hyper armor heavies, can be bullied in a two v one... has no peal, a light dodge attack that does less than most dodge heavies and with tight I-frames. He's not where even the devs want to be, he was quoted by the devs to want him to be an in between of warlord and kensei, he is nowhere near either in terms of viability.

Jormungandr has always had shoes on that chest, however the scale armor is definitely an improvement. A real struggle with trying to get Jorm to look good with that chest was the undershirt of the apron because you'd have to consider it when choosing your paint color. Now that it's metal it is no longer an issue

In terms of Kyoshin’s armor. They definitely tried to strike multiple different medieval Japanese vibes instead of sticking to one and did a decent job. The only things missing is a sohei inspired armor set, especially with some nice head wrappings. And given we have armor sets with samurai body armor and Tozen had a helmet in the first stage of his boss fight, it definitely would make sense to also add some samurai helmets to use. If they do both of these things, then’ll we’ll have reached peak drip with Kyoshin

It is possible to get a hamon on a straight blade. When the straight blade is quenched it bends foward (to the blade) first before slowly bending backwards. By putting a foward bend in the sword before quenching the blade will bend fowards like normal but, when it starts bending backwards, it will stop at a straight position (given that the pre-quench bend was at the right angle).

The difference between the Tozen base and the Tozen alternate I think will be material on the hair. In the trailer there is a red haired Tozen but all the hair shown for those is grey or black. I think it’d be cool if we got the helmet as a 3rd alternate but being able to choose hair color will be pretty cool. I’m wondering if this is the case, what marigold and the blue ones will look like. Hopefully not too ridiculous.

I think I might have figured out what the metal plates on wardens arms are meant to be: Jack chain. They were, in effect, plates of metal that were attached to a soldier’s arming jack/gambeson, and were a very cheap alternative to tradition plate armor which covered the entire arm. Not many survive today, due to them often being made of inferior metal, but artwork depicting them shows it to be a relatively common thing back in the 14/15 centuries for common soldiers. As warden’s armor is made of plates, and has a barbute helmet, it makes sense he might wear that to fit in with his wandering swordsman” persona.

I wouldn't mind the reskinned armor if we at least got new and unique head pieces. I don't understand why we can't give bp one of wardens bucket helmets or at least wear some of the armor variants of the members of your own faction. Ubi wouldn't even have to make new helmets and armor and most of the characters are the same size anyway.

You can actuely have a straight blade with differental hardening the blade just has to be cuved in the oppesit direction before putting it in water sow it pulles straight instead of into a curve.

Not sure if anyone said this but I think the lines on cents and gryphons armors (and part of bps if I'm not mistaken) is meant to resemble a mirage called heat haze. I believe this is pretty on point with the themes of this season but personally I don't really like the aesthetic, just figured I'd mention it.

I'm a wee bit late, but the one with the pauldrons are naga-bakama. Typically warn to prevent surprise attacks, or assassination attempts. A kimono/hakama have multiple uses. From just shrine protectors to ceremonial events.

I was afraid of admitting that Warden's armor was just cloth, I wanted to believe it was actually scale but the lightning didn't show it... now I'm extremely disappointed. I'm also impressed that you didn't even mention Black Prior's new scale armor. It looks really good, in my opinion. Same with Conq's full plate arms (or well, arm, cause it's only the right one), still a disappointment that they took away the chainmail tho.

Update on hitos armor from the local hitokiri main: Mighty fine armor set, the head cover could be a bit better but it's way better dan the chimera mask. Leather chestpiece looks amazing imo with the dragon rage colour. Arm pieces are very nice, not okuribito or kakure levels but they look very nice. Extra: the chestpiece has a midcover that matches material colour. Would like to have more materials aside from silver be nicely visible on that band. On another note, when material region colours ubi? This was the review from the local hito main. I'm gonna flip my way out now ciao

@@GoGoDani honestly I think that’s fair. Not gonna lie, I’m very disappointed with a lot of the armor for For Honors roster. But I do try to keep in mind that the average player isn’t concerned about the historical accuracy or practicality of armor in the game. So a lot of decisions that seem questionable to people who actually care about practical design mean nothing to the general player base of For Honor. So even if we are getting two or three actual practical armor sets per season I can live with that. Although I do wish they’d double down and just give each faction well made metal armor regardless of historical accuracy. I low key thought it would be kinda cool to see shaman running in with a bunch of loosely fitting knight armor that she looted from a lawbringer or something. Like, how hilarious would that be? Shaman wearing lawbringers helmet with the visor raised or something.

Wow I just randomly went I wonder if GoGoDani uploaded anything on Kyoshin and you uploaded today my gut just went yep. I also hope the May the 4th event comes back just to do the Prequel twirls because the Japanese have always had the best for a lightsaber. Also yes the sword is ment to be a a concealed weapon made to be a self defense weapon just like modern cane swords. Plus the differential hardening is plausible with normal blacksmithing techniques if you forge the weapon curving the opposite way it could curve into a straight blade that is why real katanas are almost straight they are forged curved the opposite direction you literally used a video example of curving it the other way to get a straighter blade.
