My family has been on this continent since before the Revolution, and has served in our military since too... I have nothing but respect for immigrants, they are what makes our country powerful and great. America is only great when we treat all of our neighbors with the same respect we ourselves wish to have directed at us. Everyone generally wants the same things in life, it's just that many people are born into places where it's harder to achieve what so many of us take for granted. Everyone deserves a fair shake, no matter where they are from. Greed and bigotry are the banes of us all, but especially to those who are downtrodden.
@martineshamzin75352 жыл бұрын
Im an immigrant. I came here as a kid. I can. tell you that youre 100% incorrect buddy, and youre suffering from liberal imposed guilt. America is not doing well. It has been going downhill at least since 1960's onwards, and too many immigrants are a big part of it. We went from 1960 when most Americans would do better then their parents to 1970, 1980, 1990 when the majority of Americans owned a house and 2 vehicles, to Y2K where our immigration became too much for us, and now the average American rents( 76% rent/24 % own houses) and the majority of Americans own 1 vehicle. The government of America needs to start putting the interests of their citizens ahead of the interests of foreigners. Otherwise there is absolutely no reason for us to give them taxes or any loyalty. Right now, our government treats foreigners and citizens almost the same. That doesnt work. Its no different then a marriage. If a person didn't put the happiness and needs of his spouse ahead of any random stranger, how long do you think a marriage would last? Not long. And this situation isnt going to last long either. NO, its NOT RANDOM PEOPLE BEING BORN HERE OR THERE. Its different cultures, some of which are more successful at producing a good country. That is why assimilation is so important. We have never had more immigrants in our country as we do today, and by every measure from buying power, to suicide rates to life expectancy the people living in America have it worse and worse.
@marissashantez60512 жыл бұрын
Why? If they were making the country powerful or great, why is the life quality of Americans going downhill? Did you know in 1980 the average American owned a home and 2 vehicles? Now 76% of Americans rent, and are lucky to even own 1 car. So, it seems more immigrants =more poverty for all of us.

@@willkoestner4159 Because they harm the economy as a whole. There is a reason every single generation of Americans live worse then the generation before them. We went from the 1960's 70's 80's and 90's when the average American( even with no education) owned a house and 2 vehicles, and could afford to raise a family on one income. Now 24% of Americans own homes, immigration has pretty much doubled our population, and continues to increase it further. Economists pretend that more bodies to tax means more taxes, but the opposite is actually true. The top 5% of earners pay 90% of taxes anyhow. Our population density is starting to really work against us. If we keep that door open we will be a 3rd world country in no time. Its especially problematic because many of the immigrants come from cultures that overpopulate. Its devastating from an environmental standpoint as well. Anyone that is pro immigration but still pretends to care about climate change is hypocrite of the worst kind.

Nice song, but extremely stupid sentiment, the quality of life in this country has gone down to extreme lows, and its because od our overgenerous immigration policy. Just think in 1980's the average American owned a house and 2 vehicles. Now 76% of us rent, and most of us aril ky to have one vehicle. And our labor participation is incredibly low...so much for them being hard working, or helping fill those jobs. Almost everything is worse.
@alicequayle4625 Жыл бұрын
@@marissashantez6051 I think it's more the USA economic policy. Worker rights have been reduced since 1980. Outsourcing of jobs overseas, I understand due to rules being changed by Reagan. Cutting taxes for the rich and raising them for the poor. Eg some European countries have about 6 weeks annual leave as standard. I understand that its about 2 weeks in the USA? From what I understand, some of this is because of campaign finance rules. USA politicians have to raise massive sums to get elected. So susceptible to bribery from big business interests.

I miss concerts and getting to see this band live. I used to live in St. Louis, and they'd come just about every year. Always put on a hell of show, with a great eclectic group of fans. We come from all walks of life, and but join together to enjoy an evening of punk, drink, and human existence. This band is f*ng amazing, and I hope we're able to beat this f*ng disease soon, for the sake of those directly suffering, and indirectly suffering. And yes, not going to bands and socializing with other humans is a form of suffering. Rock on, man! this band is so underrated. Also thank you for this wonderful song. My grandmother is from the Philippines and met my grandpa during the war. I can't imagine what it was like to adapt to a completely different culture, as I'm so far removed from that. My mother's grandmother's mother was off the boats from England, and we've traced some family from Scotland as well. This is truly the meeting and melding of many different cultures, and it's wonderful to embrace them all.

I had no idea it was President Obama who stripped everyone's rights to privacy and allowed government agents to monitor the cellphones and internet useage of any and all Americans at will and without warrants.....I could have sworn that was EX-PRESIDENT BUSH who did that shit and oh so much more to strip away the rights of the American people with the Homeland Security Act his administration hustled right through Congress in the aftermath of 9/11....I had no idea President Obama had anything at all to do with the Homeland Security Act. I thought he was all about trying to hook everyone up with healthcare so people who work shit jobs that don't offer health insurance can also go to a doctor when they're ill or injured without having to worry about incurring a bill so humongous their goddamn grandkids will still be making monthly payments on it 20 years after they're dead. I think you have your Presidents mixed up, sweetie. It's okay though, watching Faux News will do that to you. +Liberty Ncognito As a European, I'm amazed that USA doesn't give healthcare to everyone. Health is probably one of the foundations of a healthy country along with education, low poverty rates and employment. I know that the united states of America is kind of an insecure country that uses this massive propaganda machine named Hollywood to hide its flaws, but at some point we're going to worry about you just like we worry about the middle east. By that I don't mean we'll send troops against you guys. I'm talking about Genuinely worrying. Like "welp, there goes another government in Maghreb" or "Looks like USA has now reached 2 people under minimum wage out of 3". Obviously we have our own problems too, but if we can peak at our neighbours' issues, we're mostly doing fine.

I’ve lived in the US all my life and I’ve only ever worked the shittiest jobs, with no prospects. I can’t imagine the feeling of hopelessness that would drive someone to this country to do this everyday. I personally welcome you, and salute you, good luck and welcome to our capitalist hellhole. May you succeed where I haven’t.
@martineshamzin75352 жыл бұрын
Then you may want to ask yourself why you have no prospects. Dont forget that in the 1960's the average American even with no education owned a house, 2 vehicles, and could raise a family on one salary. Sure, they might end up working in a factory, but we had lost of those. It was still like that in 1970, 1980, 1990....And things are still getting worse for us. You may have been trained to welcome them, but as our population is skyrocketing up, all through immigration( our birth rate is around 2, just enough to keep us steady, yet American population has doubled from the first census in 1970). Immigrants are the reason housing and rent prices are so high. have you ever heard of supply and demand? Well, the supply of land stays the same. The demand grows with the number of people. So when your rent is raised again this year, I want you to go and thank an immigrant.
@CarpeVerpa2 жыл бұрын
@@martineshamzin7535 The landlords set the rent prices, not immigrants. There are more vacant houses in the US than there are homeless people, but there's no profit motive in housing people. Instead of blaming people trying to find better opportunities or safety, maybe you should look at the people in this country with all the power and a vested interest in keeping things the way they are.
