Out of all the videos on grooming, yours are the best! I have 3 dogs -- two soft-coated wheaton terriers who seem similar to Charlie's coat once they are combed out, and a Shitzu Bichon mix. As much as I try, my clipper work takes so long and is exhausting. My one wheaton looked very choppy when I was done. I found this video really helpful but would love a cheat sheet on the combs/blades as it is so confusing. Would I use the same blades/combs on the wheatons as you used for Charlie? Also, I purchased the Wahl 5-in-1 clipper before I saw your other video. It says it has a setting for #10 blade. Is this satisfactory or should I buy a separate #10? Thanks for all you do from NJ -- lawyer now turned part-time groomer!
@GoGroomer4 жыл бұрын
Hello my dual career friend:) I feel your struggles as blades and combs sizes can be confusing. Here is a chart that is a fantastic clipper blade reference and will help you determine clip length. www.revivalanimal.com/pet-health/clipper-blade-chart/learning-center Here is another link to the exact snap on comb that will be compatible with your wahl 5 in 1 clipper... amzn.to/2RJJjKN You can use the same size combs I used on Charlie for both of your babies:) Hope this helps. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Charlie is such a good sport! Beautiful job! Does plucking ear hairs not hurt? The trimmer I have had a pretty small comb, but it doesn’t seem to cut very short. What happens if you cut in the opposite direction that the hair grows, like you do on a human, instead of in the same direction. Thank you for such a detailed video! Very helpful! I have a Maltese Shitzu mix.
@GoGroomer4 жыл бұрын
Ear plucking does not hurt the dog if you take small amounts at a time. clipping in the opposite direction is fine but I don't like to do that with any blade shorter than a #4 because it can damage the hair follicle. Hope this helps! Hugs:)

How do you trim a Cavachon tail? or do you?
@GoGroomer Жыл бұрын
Comb it out. Hold it down to the floor, find the tail bone to be sure to avoid cutting near it, and trim flush with the floor.

I used your link to the Wahl km10 clipper after seeing how great a job you do with it. You priced it at $156.00, when I went to the link it states $347.00. Thats a huge difference. How old or when were these clippers priced? $347 is a lot of money difference. Perhaps the video is older ? I love your videos and thought about getting the $156.00 one, but not for $347.00

Shar W the price should be 199.00. But during COVID retailers are trying to rip people off! Order from PetEdge

Great video Amy! I am always struggling with those nasty looking long grown hairs on Bellas upper lips. Do you have any advice? I would love to see a "how to" video about it!!!!

Thanks Sweetie! If I understand you correctly, you want to trim right under the nose and up the lips because of excessive hair? Often I run my #10 blade straight up both lips to the nose. Is that the area you are referring to? If not, paint the picture for me so I can help you:) Hugs!

I like that you only bend the dog’s legs in their natural direction

Hi, when I use a 4f or a 5f blade if find that it leaves a lot of lines, especially when using them on a drop coat dog. Any recommendations? I mean other than using a clipper comb.
