I stared college at 49 . I'm going to graduate this this year just before I turn 58. I started at the local community college in 2013. I graduated from there in 2019 with my Associate of Arts and 2020 with my 2 year Accounting Specialist. Doing it debt free!

I am in the same boat. I started going back to school this Spring Semester and I plan to just keep going. I've worked in corporate America for 15 yrs (I'm 39) lol, but I've always wanted to be a teacher. So I finally took the steps to get it in motion! Massive kudos to you for knowing what you want, setting goals, and going after it. It is definitely not an easy road being older and going back to school. I am 44 and chose to go back to finish my Bachelors degree as well. When you have a full time+ (50-60 hours a week) job plus all of the family, community, and church obligations, it gets rough. As you said though if you have a focus and an end goal that you are passionate about, you'll get through it. It’s crazy you can find anything on KZbin I typed in going back to college as and older student and you popped up.ima truck driver it’s cool but I like being around people and building things to make the world better. I’m 29 going on 30 with 4 kids you hit it right on the head when you said it’s easier to focus being older already experienced the young activities . I did community college a little bit straight out of high school I had a good gpa but was extremely unfocused at community college and dropped out and online school was not good . I’m applying to on campus university hopefully get accepted into NC A&T and major in mechanical engineering.Thanks for the video

You can do it! I myself am struggling with anxiety and heavy burnout and am tempted to drop out of college and start sometime later in life but dont hit yourself up just because you started later. Be proud that you finally decided to pursue college with a goal in mind and not in the dark like I am. I have no passion nor career I want to go into yet and it is my 3 to 4th year. Tbh I feel lost in college which is why I have burnout, depression, and anxiety. I hope for the best for you and your journey in life and pleases pray for me so that I can find my purpose in life.

I went to college at age 18 and I did badly my first year because I was depressed. Now that I’m about to be 27 this April, I’m excited to go back to college despite some mental health issues. I have 46 college credits and a 3.0 GPA at my last institution (a community college). I can’t get my associate’s at that college because my financial aid got messed up, so all I can do is transfer to a different institution. I just got accepted into a 4 year institution that is local in my city. It was pretty easy to get into and it is considered a good university. I’m excited. I start this August. I’m still debating if I’ll stay on campus or if I’ll commute. I’m betting by now have completed your associate’s. Do you intend to get a bachelor’s as well?

29 I’ll have some certs by the time I get out of army but I’m mentally prepping myself to go back to school for nursing by using Khan Academy that way when I go back to school at 33 I have the gi bill from serving i still am as well which will pay for living expenses and all of school no kids and won’t have any until after I get a degree and that’s a big if got divorced so all my focus is on myself any advice?

I'm 35 and have a few months left in the Army before I head to Prairie View A&M. I've taken some community college courses online and have other credits I can transfer from the Army. But this is going to be an "unknown wild" journey going to an HBCU at 35 haha. But at least it will be free via basically two G.I. Bills... A Montgomery G.I. and the Hazlewood Act for enlisting in TX. People who enlist as residents of Illinois have the same two free college degree benefits. Except Illinois calls it something else. I also got accepted at Texas A&M, but I want to support our culture in many ways. Nice video
