It's been a long time since I've been home to Kyiv and an even longer time since the Chișinău to Kyiv train route has ran. Just one week before my trip the railroad line between the two countries reopened since 24 years ago. This would be a very special trip back home to Ukraine from Moldova. Join me on this journey back home to Kyiv, Ukraine.

The information about the rail link Chișinău - Kiev is not 100% accurate. Until the covid pandemic, there used to be many trains Chișinău - Moscow with a stop in Kiev. So, the link actually existed almost all the time. Happy to see it works again.

Well, yes, when the energy structure is being destroyed, there should be no electricity at all, but here it is, and now blackouts take a maximum of 4 hours a day. Where else would it be lol, in any other country they would refuse to repair burning transformers under the threat of shelling, and the electricity would have disappeared long ago, but not here.

There's a lot worse things in life and regardless, no one gets kicked off a train for just that... If you are sleeping, talking all sorts of shit about Ukraine in full sentences, followed by some sleep walking that brings out 20+ years of latent MMA combat abilities for anyone "getting in the way." Sure, then perhaps invest in some pre-travel cat naps just prior to getting on and a grab a redbull or two. I'm sure "where there's a will there's a way; ASK JOHNNY FD :)
