Edit- such a shame that I have to edit this original comment since I had high hopes before posting. This channel is centered around building people up and helping people overcome insecurity, the main one of course being going bald. I am all for people having opinions but be respectful it costs nothing. I enjoy people sharing opinions but I just can not tolerate outright hate and disrespect I just don’t see any need for it. (Original comment) - Recently You guys who are engaging with the channel and its guests have seriously done yourselves proud. The fact that people feel comfortable enough to come online and share experiences like this here at Baldcafe is a testament to that and long may it continue. For the key moment s here are some timestamps 02:00 Hair loss experience - Head Shave 25:11 - Post Head shave feels 20:54

I'm also a transgender man, I was balding even before starting testosterone. My hair has been thinning badly since I was 17, I'm 34 now so, I've had plenty of time to accept my hair's fate. Thinning/balding runs on my Mom's side of the family; my mom, her mom, her sister, her grandmother, my sister as well, all have extremely thin hair and balding; my aunt wore a wig and my mom has a large noticeable bald spot she tries to hide with hats and ponytails, she also buys so many hair thickening products that aren't helping her at all. My Dad was also straight up bald on top so, I have that in my genes too. Starting to take testosterone (low dose, mind you/0.25 ml a week) when I was 30 did accelerate my hair-loss a little bit, but I had already decided to start shaving my head the summer before I started taking T. Something empowering about just saying "screw it" and buzzing it all off and then not having to worry about how your hair is styled and if your scalp is showing anywhere.

@@Tomlin80iu You either apparently. You can biologically be female and have XY chromosomes. Look it up. Chromosomes are a great sex indicator most of the time, yes, but chromosomes don’t always 100% define sex. So if your hatred for trans people is based of science, maybe you should learn biology a bit more. Also, there are as many intersex people (people who cannot be categorized as male or female at birth because they share both sex organs) than red hair people on Earth. The point of this channel is to bring people together and help people who are going through thinning, to accept themselves, to accept baldness. @PrincessKurae2 жыл бұрын
You first need to see a dermatologist. There are several causes for hair loss, so it's best to get a diagnosis. He will test your hormones, minerals and whether you have autoimmune antibodies. The most common cause is androgenic alopecia (also in assigned female at birth people). If your androgens seem off the top, you need to go to a gyneacologist and get tested for polycystic ovarian syndrome. In this case, it might be possible that you even need anti-androgen HRT. You have to decide if you want to get on anti-androgen HRT, as it's actually the exact opposite of what a trans man wants. But the excess of androgens that comes with polycystic ovarian syndrome isn't just masculinization, it also increases your risk for several serious health diseases. If you have androgenic alopecia and no underlying health condition, you can treat your hair loss with minoxidil (or simply shave your head).

men go bald. if you're going to be a dude, you might sport a chrome dome, that is definitely manly. this is normal and is a characteristic of being a man. are we going to complain about pot bellies or facial hair next?
@LK-my3wq2 жыл бұрын
So cis men can complain about being bald but trans men cant?

its wild to me that you guys are messing with hormones and ignoring the knowledge bodybuilders have. free testosterone turns into dht and that often causes baldness... wouldnt fenestride work? why not get into the bodybuilding knowledge base? this has been a problem since the 60s
@JCElzinga2 жыл бұрын
later you say you didnt mention you were trans cause why... well all body builders know that external sources of T gives you WAY more free test which turns into dht which causes balding. i am a cis male body builder who abuses testosterone. i have the same risks... if your gonna mess with your hormones, dont assume the drs know what their doing cause most dont.

So much hatred lmao. You’re funny. People are just tryna be happy man. I’m not even transgender and I get that. Nothing is natural these days. Your grandma getting a heart transplant or cancer treatment is NOT natural, getting any kind of surgery is NOT natural, getting tattoos is NOT natural.. Why do you even care about what other people do with their own body. There is enough shit happening in the world, is hating on transgender people really your biggest priority? Or are you really that bored and insecure about yourself that you have to put other people down?

@@Baldcafe Cause it's gonna make you appear to be a modern day SJW, which is a HUGE turnoff for the majority of the planet, thus causing a LOT of dislikes, lost subs, and less views. You could've easily interviewed him without any mention of the LGBT information, and no one would've known, thus no complaints either.

Unless you have been transgender yourself you shouldnt feel the need to state your opinion. You might have been programmed whats good and wrong from birth but close-mindedness is something you can choose not to be. Try it sometimes it might bring some positivity in your life.
