@SouthSideMobileBrakeService.Ай бұрын
For anyone experiencing hair loss, receding hairlines, or thinning hair: I've watched all of Derek's videos and followed this protocol, and it worked very well for me: 1. Topical Minoxidil 5%: Apply morning and night. 2. Microneedling: Use once a week at 1.5mm (I recommend the Intelligent brand, which is Derek's company). 3. 2% Ketoconazole Shampoo: Use daily. 4. Finasteride: Start with a super low dose (0.01%) every day, then gradually increase. ( Zero Side effects) You MUST stay consistent with this routine for at least three months before expecting any noticeable results. It's also essential to understand what each of these treatments does. While I didn't regain much of my receding hairline, I did gain a lot of bulk hair on the crown.

Found The Hair Loss Show on YT - two Austrailian hair loss specialists - that recommended lower doses.Been on this dose for about 10 months - no more side-effects. Complete stabilization of hair loss & some actual regrowth on the vertex. As we get older, DHT causes more issues. Not just hair loss, but prostate cancer risk and other evidence suggests it may play a role in risk of heart disease and even skin aging. All the research we have shows that Testosterone fulfills the necessary roles just fine and DHT is not a systemically active hormone like Testosterone is anyway, so the claim that it’s more potent than T is a nonsensical point. We also know that people who are born with genetic networks in 5AR live normal lives and don’t have increased risk of depression or sexual issues, apart from those born with abnormal growth of genitalia. For that DHT does play a role for that during fetal development but doesn’t seem necessary later on after that. There are those who produce no DHT but have normal genitalia development too due to increase T levels and they seem normally healthy.
@dota-tc2uvАй бұрын
Exactly. Im so tired of reading missinformation people spread around the internet. Testosterone is the key. We ve seen what happened to people born without alpha reductase enzyme or very low DHT in general, there is a study about that actually. The positives of DHT are not worth the negatives (Enlarged prostate, heart disease, cancer, hairloss, depression caused by hairloss which is totally underlooked)

Minoxidil caused me the most grotesque depression you can imagine. This coming from someone who had depression for about 6 years before. 6-8 months into topical Minoxidil 5% I got this insane depressing feeling that felt like I killed my best friend and buried him in the woods and now had to tell his family. Or my own family had been all killed in a crazy murder spree. It is impossible to understand this feeling unless you felt it. I remember Jordan Petersson saying something similar and I just thought he had bad depression. No, it is literally exactly how he describes it. At least mine was. If you’re on trt now it might be worth trying again. My hypothesis is that Since DHT is more potent than test, lowering DHT and subsequently raising estrogen (because the test that used to convert to DHT can now aromatize) can cause the symptoms you described, but if you’re manually controlling your test levels with TRT, and take anything to control estrogen, you may be able to have high enough test to compensate for the loss of DHT.

Clearly, Dr. Attia wasn't taking this seriously. He was joking about how it's "only cosmetic" and he didn't even fundamentally know that only finasteride or dutasteride could actually STOP hair loss progression. He was talking about how minoxidil and prp were better options. umm....actually, no. You can't get around taking finasteride if you want to stop the hair loss. He was joking how no President elected was bald. This is how it came across to me. He doesn't take the topic seriously, and it shows.

@@darrow_andromeda915No the issue is most of those other treatments do not address the root cause, and that is preventing DHT from attacking your hair follicles. Only oral Fin/Dutes and possibly topical form of them can stop the thinning from happening. But topical forms still absorb into your body. Conclusion: only fin/dus can prevent hair loss reliably.

I mean, hairloss is very simple to control and the research is out there. There are no amount of minerals or vitamins you can take that will help for more than short term or "illusion" aka you think its doing something good. And if you take SO MANY, you are now just harming your organs and gut. The best route to take is medical therapy (topical fin/ minox), micro needling once a month, PRP injections once every 6 to 12 months. FUE hair transplant if possible of course. If you have a predisposition for hairloss, many PEDs will encourage hairloss. Nizoral 5% can help thicken the follicle but the balance of use is tough. You dont want to fuk up your scalp/ skin and cause irritation. Shampoos and conditions are like going toe to toe combat with hairloss, its VERY HARD to stay on the ball. The fin/minox and microneedling are long term remedies proven to work for almost every man. Also, most men are in denial about their hairloss. You dont see it until its more than 50% gone. The human eye cant detect the thinning until that point, unless you are really watching your hair from the get go. Being proactive is VERY VERY important. I've been dealing with it since 2011 and now at almost 40, have had two FUE procedures here in the states and do the fin/minox topical every day. I have more head on the top of my head now than I did at 26.

Been on Fin for 3 years and the best thing I can say is that I actually never look in the mirror anymore or worry on a windy day. The psychological relief from that has been massive. Never listen to anyone who says "it's just hair". For many people, hair is a fundamental part of how they look and, by extension, the pride and confidence they have in their appearance. Losing hair is a loss of some of their identity. It is so dismissive to say to someone, "No big deal." Listen, it is. In the same way, getting overweight and losing a sense of self-image and confidence in yourself are the same thing. When you feel you look good, you will feel good. People just get it mixed that there is some narcissism or something with admitting that. Fckn bs.

Losing your hair is like suddenly getting a bigger nose or droopier face, or dropping a few inches in height. People who say "who cares" are disingenuous or just stupid. It only matters because people (notably women) do treat you differently depending on how you look. If people didn't do that, then I'd agree, who cares, easier to be bald, saves a lot of time.

Hair and height both matter A LOT for first impressions. Exception for hair: Guys who look good with the shaved head look, which is really only dark skinned guys with elite physiques. Exception for height: Guys who have some type of obvious status, like a very wealthy guy or a known influencer. Having said that, once you get past the initial impressions, then neither mean very much. Meaning that being short or having to shave your head will not stop you from finding and keeping the right girl as long as you: A) Have a good personality funny/confident. B) Have a well above average physique and take care of yourself and your look. C) Have your financial stuff together. Height and hair issues will only make it harder to find the girl, but you'll still find her. However, height and hair issues make it much more difficult to just go out and get laid whenever you want.
