That is why I am here. I got off of it after being in it for four years. I’m recently married and do not want to have a baby right now but I don’t want to be on birth control. Trying to do as much research as possible on how to do this naturally. If anyone has advice please help me out! I know about tracking my cycle and taking my temp, but I just want someone’s personal experience with coming off of it and what to do next.

@@leahthornhill561 tbh, condoms are really your best bet but they're the least effective. You COULD try the non hormonal birth control (copper) IUD. Talk to your obgyn, it can protect either 6 or 12 years I believe and you can get it taken out at any time. My Friend uses it. You can also buy ovulation tests to figure out your cycle, though this is also not super effective. IUD is most effective (99.99%)

I was fine before taking birth control and I'm fine after finally getting off after 5 years of being on it. Other than the shocking amount of heavy flow that I forgot was normal, I've actually lost weight, my skin is glowing and feel emotionally stable. The minor inconvenience of my sex life by using condoms and watching my fertility is better then major inconvenience in my everyday life. Big pharma finances medical research, so thats all I have to say.

I had my problems watching this interaction. The woman opened up about very sensitive issues in public. The doctor automatically assumed that the effects are due to an unhealthy lifestyle, personal hygiene, too much "male hormones". Isn't it more likely that the issues are due to her going off birth control 6 months ago? She never mentioned changing her eating habbits, skincare routine etc. The doctor automaticly assumes that she doesn't do it correctly. If she isn't able to handle such topics responsibly and respectful, she shouldn't give advice on this show. I feel kinda sorry for the woman, you can see she looks uncomfortable.

The doctor is correct, but her delivery was weird. When you go off of birth control, your hormones will go back to their "normal state," but it will obviously take some time. For me it took about 6 months before I was back to my body's "normal." I had been on birth control for 15 years, so I didn't know what my body would be like off of it. I have PCOS, so what I discovered is androgenetic hair loss and acne. The androgens were being suppressed with my birth control, so I didnt see these things for 15 years. I think the acne and the oily hair the woman is describing is 100 percent just her natural hormonal state. It does take adjustment to learn to live with. Use a clarifying shampoo, also Nizoral with active ingredient Ketoconazole has been proven to help block androgens topically. If you want something more powerful, go to a dermatologist and get a prescription shampoo that will have a higher percentage Ketoconazole. For the acne - try ingredients like glycolic acid, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid (not all at once - test them out separately to avoid irritation)

Did you parents also have high blood pressure. I have always been of the thought that if you have the genes for strokes, hypertension, or blood clots. Either take the lowest dose for the least amount of intervals or take alternatives such as true iud. Since the genes slant you already with a disadvantage and thus increase the chances of the medicine also increasing the chances…. It’s basically increasing the probability. I’d don’t have high blood pressure in my ten years but I tried to eat garlic pills everyday and was on a Whole Foods plant based diet then vegan and back to plant based. And walking all the time. @@kieramarie614 this is where I think some doctors are Better than others. Some will either ask about your parents health before the pill or would already have that on record. If you already have a tendency of blood pressure it means that the pill will probably spike it. The doctor has to be very open at that time and try to look for the one that has least probably to and tell you to monitor it. The same as if you have dvt in your family. The issue is that the now have so many patients and are just doing 5 minute sessions that they no longer have the time to be all the mentally. We have to be very open to doctors to. I had a friend that smoked pot and she told the doctor, doctor changed the pill automatically because she felt it may conflict with her med (not the pill but something else). And sometimes we are not as well because they intimidate us and it’s just the doctor dynamic. That’s why I also tend to prefer the funny ones that know how to break the ice more than those that look like walking nerds. Those are fine: just for more serious conditions.

Hormonal birth control does not balance out every women's hormones. This isn't one size fits all. We are all different. Some hormonal BC add man made hormones that we don't naturally produce and all of this is being communicated through our pituitary gland, our uterus and ovaries. Ugghh... unfortunately a generic OBGYN giving generic advice. Nothing special. Here's some potential advice - set up an appointment with an actual ENDOCRINOLOGIST & have them test EVERYTHING - by that I mean all female hormones, A1c, check for insulin resistance (you don't have to be diabetic), Hashimoto's disease, Vit D, etc. Do ALL of the things you're supposed to do "common sense wise" - balanced diet, or even try KETO (for at least 4-5wks before your appointment so you're already reducing your carbs when your blood is taken - make sure to fast minimum 12hrs beforehand (black coffee, tea with no sugar or anything or water only) - then go from there. I did just this and found out I have some insulin resistance, got on Metformin 1000mg/day & continued exercising and eating like I had been doing (overall healthy diet) & dropped 15lbs. I go back next week/6 months after my initial Endocrinologist visit to have my labs taken again. Good luck!!

Hey so 5 month update from the time it started til now. The last time I had an anxiety attack was the beginning of December. It's as if week by week my anxiety started to subside. I went from not being able to function at work (and quitting my job because it was a source of stress) and not being able to sleep at night to feeling so close to normal. After experiencing that I dont think I'll ever be back to normal though. During the month of December I would just feel little vibrations if any, that would disappear a few seconds after it came. January was ok. I'm 100% convinced it was the pills. Anxiety shouldn't just disappear like that. I'm so thankful that it did but it's weird that it did. And I have not taken the pills since, I was determined to get it out of my system. I needed to know if the pills caused it.

Ive been on the birth control pill since 16 to 18 and went off. I took the depo shot at 21 and went off with the first injection because i wasnt having a good experience. I got pregnant within 9 months from my last injection, and miscarried at 9 weeks. I went back on the pill at 23 because i was homeless and didnt have proper housing for an additional human being. At 29 going on 30, i got the iud and it was super painful but my ex made me get because he didnt want kids. I got the iud removed within 4 months of having it in because it was making me crazy. I went on depo provera again because i want togive it a second chance since im older. I got two injections of depo and i gained 20lbs. Im 30 now and im going off birth control for good.

I'm coming off BC in hopes of curing my vulvodynia, and losing weight. I used to be super skinny (I also had an eating disorder tho 😅) before BC, after being on the pill for 4 years I've gained 40 lbs in that time and it's super stubborn fat that I can't seem to lose no matter how little I eat, how good I eat or my exercise. Started thinking my BC might have contributed to the weight gain. I'm a little sad though because the whole reason I started BC was to help my extreme cramps and migraines, it also cleared my acne and helped with my mood swings (I used to get angry a lot, BC turned it into crying which was arguably better.) Not to mention to 2-3 day periods. I'm going to genuinely miss all that. Not looking forward to the possibility of my heavy 7 day flow, pain and mood swings coming back, and my face getting more pimples/zits than usual. At the end of the day I have to think of the positive though and look for better options.

Hey i have been off the pill for about 6 months now and feel so amazing. I never knew how awful I really felt on the bcp . Since I've been off I've gone through some phases. Horrible acne, some hair fall, and unpredictable periods. But everything is finally starting to balance back out. It takes 6 months to a year for eveything to get back to where it should be if you have been on the pill for a long tine. I've been working with a hollistic doctor. She has me on vitamins I was lacking because the birth control pill depletes you of a lot of vitamins and nutrients. I have been drinking dandelion and spearmint tea to help balance hormones. I have taken dairy and gluten completely out of my diet. Tomato does bother a lot of people too because it can cause inflmmation. She also has me on a progesterone hormone cream because my testosterone levels were off the charts. My skin is finally starting to look even better than when I was on the pill now. My migranes are gone, and I feelbso much happier and less anxious. Also it is important when you come off to make sure you don't have insulin resistance or pcos . I had both and have finally reveresed them working with my hollistic doctor. Before she became a hollistic doctor she was an obgyn for many years so she helps a lot of women with this !! Hope it helps !

Does anyone know when the withdrawals end of depo shot? I just got one shot for 3 months after i had my baby. It was my first time being on any birth control. I was perfectly fine before I got the shot and during the shot. I decided not to get it anymore because I was spotting most of the 3 months which is usually normal and the 3rd month on being on the shot I was super bloated and had hair loss. I was suppose to get it again July 23, 2021 but didn’t. Started having really bad withdrawals I was super dizzy, tired, anxiety, nervousness, super sad i felt like i was alone, on September 1 i started spotting lasted about 2/3 days. A week later my boobs were super swollen felt burning sensation and had really bad cramps and on September 27 I got my first actual period, it was heavy and lasted 5 days. Now its October some withdrawals went away already but still feel my boobs a little bit sore and have a little bit of back pain still feel sometimes sad i had never felt like this before i was a different person before getting on the shot i wish i had never gotten it. Everyone is different and every body reacts different to brith control, my sister also had 1 dose and she only experience hair loss and tiredness. I haven’t been on the shot but maybe since October I got off it a month ago and I’m having little abdominal pains like a period but feeling little pains like something flowing throw me from the both sides like something releasing.. Could that possibly be the shot starting to take effect as coming off that shot or possibly ovulating ? Me and my husband is trying to have a baby

Ive been on marvelon most of my life from 17-47 due to heavy bleeding, and pain i felt i was goung to pass out from in my early teens, i would go white as a sheet, not easy as I'm brown! After the birth of my daughter i got adenomyosis due to the surgery on my placenta accreta. So was bsvk on marvelon due to heavy blood clots during periods, it helped with less bleeding, shortter bleed days but now I'm bearing menopause, i think i should come off now, i used to have sone breaks here and there but couldn't manage without being on pills. My blood pressure seens to have shot up since coming off cokd turkey which concerns me, but i don't know how long before i go to the drs about it, he really doesn't want to see me, thinks i have no issues but i actually have loads of unexplained issues. Including gastritis type symptoms.

I realize I'm just an internet stranger, but you don't have to be scared! They have at least been proven safe. That being said, just try to watch for side effects and if they are ones that you don't want to keep dealing with, you can always switch pills or birth control methods.

The information doctors give sometimes is sick. Everything she just said your normal joe could have told you. Oh you’re gaining weight? Maybe try eating healthier and working out. Just listen to your body 😂 terrible
