Hot Take Maybe: HSR needs to stop releasing characters from the Xianzhou Luofu. I get it, Chinese company, Xianzhou is basically a representative of China. But its f•••ing ridiculous. Nearly half of the available characters are from Xianzhou-what happened to the other areas? Belobog for one is lame asf rn, there's so much they could do with an icy landscape. Surely they can come up with more danger and story for a planet that's been literally plunged into icy depths for 700 years by a Stellaron.

Just her screwing around the entire time while doing what Silver Wolf asked is pretty characteristic and didn’t need her to do too much else. The same for Sampo as well, but he instead orchestrated most of what happened on Belobog and making himself a side character upon the arrival of the express all for fun. It fits since Sparkle is already shown to be a bit crazier than Sampo especially when they both were talking to each other which shows that yeah Sparkle is much less likely to care about what happens to the people which she resides being a bit closer to Aha’s will while of course Sampo still wants to help his home

@@nilmerg Seele can't consistently proc her extra turn kill on newer mobs, unless you have godly relics on her and top tier supports, if you compare with v1 mobs. The Hp inflation is real since hoyo need to sell new units with a linear type of turn-base game like hsr where you either release new type of dmg archtype or increase mobs hp. Yes we have sometimes things like memory turbulences and gameplay gimmicks but holy take Seele and Acheron multiplers its like Heaven and hell.

For the "Firefly and SAM should've been separate characters" tweet, I kinda agree. Having them be a Cloak n' Dagger styled character where SAM had sentiance and wanted to leave Firefly but couldn't due to his entire purpose being keeping her alive would be a cool idea and they could still work together as a unit but more like Clara, maybe her basic IS the sword while the skill is SAM's foot dive, and when they ult, they fuse together so SAM can use Firefly's swords.

It was extremely weird to make him appear out of nowhere and for the galaxy rangers coming to have no payoff and we never get to see them. Sparkle gets to dick around for a button plot that means fuck all and pretend to be sampo and make a murder mystery out of herself but Boothill can't play a crucial part to the story beyond being someone Acheron exposition dumps onto. "Not in kit or gameplay" that's the only place he's relevant in, he's literally meta?? I think giving him a bigger role in the story is perfect for the right amount of suspense and would at least have a satisfying conclusion. Give someone a REASON to pull for him outside of his strength instead of randomly pulling him out of your ass at the end. Easy.

I should know that in the Chinese version of the text according from the direct translations that I have found, it says that they also gave each other rings. Presumably wedding rings, but I haven’t read the text from myself and can only trust what I’ve heard from others so I might be wrong about the exact wording. And there’s probably more evidence that I’m forgetting.

After watching the whole video, I’m starting to see two underlying issues: Powercreep, and “shit” lore. Imma contextualized: right now, outside of SU and MoC, my QQ is doing at best, 794k on ult, and now 1.4 mil damage in total…. She’s a 1.0 unit, and yeah, powercreep does exists, but I don’t think that’s to the degree ppl think: If the content is made for that thing, they’re going to be better for it than others, even if my QQ is literally Oppenheimer. Powercreep is mostly caused by meta shift, not the fact that characters can’t output the amount of damage needed to clear. (But for people with under developed teams, it does seem that way.) My QQ does a lot of damage, but the problem is that she just can’t shine, since their isn’t enough situations to allow her to, compared to firefly or Boothill, which still currently benefit from the current meta. 2. *The lore* Imma be honest: as a lore delver, it’s not bad, with dismembered children, conspiracies, and Bailu being a creature from hell. (Both literally, and maybe metaphorically.) Lore is interesting, the problem is that 1. It’s hidden in quests, books and item descriptions. 2. It’s at least 50 pages worth or reading :/ Because of that, people like illiterate2 doesn’t know what’s going to happen, and since most ppl aren’t into that stuff. (Like Laody lore and her 30 min summaries.) the main story arcs come off as kinda weird to a lot of people. The Acheron and welt convo is a perfect example, being that Acheron was talking about her Kevin, and welt was talking abt his, and his plans with ADAM. If you didn’t play HI3 tho, you wouldn’t understand it that well, which is why many kinda hated that… Personally, I miss the interactive lore they did back in belobog, and the museum bit was pretty good. Also, I do agree with box2 abt the event stuff: Doing the rythm game, then having to do minutes of dialogue in-between does get a bit repetitive. The problem is that most people aren’t going to read and sweat and the lore, so whenever someone comes up, people complain about it, when it’s been in plain sight for ages .-. Let’s take Tingyun for example: Her “death” has been foreshadowed since the start of the Loufu arc, with Loucha’s VA lines confirming he met her, but the description was different from who we knew, combined with her random disappearances led up to the eventual neck snap.. Around a month later in 1.6 with the ghost hunting event with Huo Huo, it would confirm two things: (but technically it was also said in scrolls before and after tingyun’s “death”.) 1. Long life species can’t dissolve. (As in when heliobi possession occurs, they bodies can’t disintegrate due to the longevity given by Yaoshi.) 2. Heliobi can clone bodies, as see with Bailu… This, combined with other things, basically said that Tingyun was alive, or technically, the one we saw and was with for a good bit was an imposter. (Or just phantylia.) So for people who knew the lore, it was a matter of time before it was revealed :/ This also happened with Mikhail and Firefly/sam. (Belobog is exampted due to how fucking ASSS the lore became due to certain changes right before launch, like pela possibly being 6, and starting a band with a 18-ish year old serval ☠️) *-Also technically, we’re probably going back in like 1-2 patches when the Void Legion wakes back up from the ice :/-* So yeah, it’s not like it doesn’t make sense or it isn’t good, it’s just the fact that their story tell kinda sucks, with a lot of it taking reference from BOTW storytelling, but since almost nobody reads item discriptions, most people won’t understand what’s going on entirely, which kinda make the points addressed in-game a bit mute :/ As for the 3rd and biggest point. (I lied theirs actually 3.) It’s just the fucking Twitter people. I’ve played a lot of gachas and waifu bait games, and tbh, HSR is better than most-all of them. Yeah, their going to sexualiz a good bit of the adult women, but in terms of clothing, it’s not that bad, also, the gacha system isn’t bad at all, being that it’s is higher than that of other games, like Fucking CRK, which after honeymoon phase, just became a fucking annoying, since like yeah, u get like 100 pulls per month, but each legendary cost like 2000 pulls, and each one keep power creeping each other each patch :/ One of my biggest tripes with HsR is more or less the lack of overall event content, which is good since it’s not going down the live-service route like CRK, or arknights, it does feel kinda empty, especially compared to games like ZZZ, which has an arcade, and just extra stuff to do while bored/just wanting to pass even more time. Like HSR does have problems, but I do feel that the bit that are being addressed aren’t really the main problem, and just thing people believe to be worst than they actually are, ignoring the bigger issues that are also there..

The problem is that your narrative should stand on its own. You shouldn't need nor expect players to have to read novels outside the game or hidden in random pickups/SU/lore entries for your story to be good. Of course there are exceptions- you could say Fromsoft has good narratives inside their worlds, but you certainly wouldn't say the story is good in those games. You also wouldn't say Star Rail has a good story, at least, not anymore. Reverse 1999 has an amazing story that it delivers without needing tertiary materials. Its possible in a gacha. Hoyo just can't do it. They're scared of having stakes, they somehow yap way too much and simultaneously fail at explaining important things. This isn't to say it's *bad*, but it certainly isn't *good*. I've seen a pile of players completely not understand what the hell even happened in Penacony. Others have to watch explained videos- this is a sign of failing as writers, at least on some level. Agree on Twitter though, it's a cesspit. Never having Twitter has been wonderful for me, highly recommend.

Powercreep is really not as bad as people make it out to be. I'm f2p and NOT a hardcore gamer, I pull for a mixture of meta and chars I like, and I've been clearing everything for months with pre-Sunday Jing Yuan and Ratio, using plenty of 4* chars like Tingyun, Pela, March, Moze, TB etc, no meta dps, my only sig is Jing Yuan's. There's a lot of channels dedicated to showing 4* only clears, Seele clears, standard banner clears. Yes, good supports really help! Yes, sig LCs can help the older characters! Yes, there is an HP inflation! But you can still clear with your green Dan Hengs and your Claras.

Powercreep is not a big of an issue as people make it out to be. I can 3* MoC with Blade and Acheron as my DPS of choice (Though blade takes like 6 cycles), so all content is clearable as long as you have a decent 1.0 DPS (Dr. Ratio, Jingliu, DHIL, etc), and ANY of the top 3 DPS units (Feixiao, Acheron, Firefly).

10:07 Im a day 1 hsr player and a very light dolphin. I only buy the express pass and the bp sometimes. IMO powercreep is pretty bad but its still 100% possible to use old characters to clear content even without everything meta. I dont have any limited 5* eidolons and I have lost every single 50/50 since i started the game and I use characters/dps from 1.x to clear content (qingque and jingliu mainly)

what if they kill the character in the story but it's still playable? i mean... arlan it's alive but in the story do NOTHING after the herta space station quest, jiaoqi would even an upgrade in the story, also ff, my heart was touched when misha died, and i LOVE IT. if a story it's dramatic the story (most of the time, there are exceptions) become better and if the characters don't have plot armor it's more interesting... i mean, i know that ff somehow will be alive at the end of the 3 "deaths", so the story was kinda... if i know they will be safe no matter what it's a bit boring tbh

My personal hot takes: 1) I dont like Firefly. I like SAM. Fight me. Gimme actual robo-daddies aside Svarog. **inhales hopium for playable Screwllum** 2) Stellaron Hunters couldve been better if they are actual antagonists who sent the MC into the Astral Express as a spy/sleeper agent for them. 3) My take on the semantics of the "Free to play" game is as we can install the game without paying the money for it. Thats one meaning, i know theres another. 4) I remember DoT units being praised left and right during early Penacony, that's because of how the devs designed enemies back then. Remember that dinosaur chef and Sleepie? Yeah DoTs are more effective to defeat them. People talk about metas but ignore the kind of enemies that were being released into MoC etc. and the buffs that came along with it.

Okay, I think the shipping take is pretty valid, here's why. Within this community, in order to keep a ship from flourishing, one or more of the following things has to fall into place: The character is a minor, the character is already in an established relationship or there is a clear PLATONIC relationship between the characters. And even so, if these things fall into place, you can't keep the ships from happening. Example, no ships for Bailu or Hook or anyone of the sort. Robin and Sunday are siblings, so a sensible person wouldn't make ships of that and Kafka and the trailblazer have a very mother, child dynamic. Otherwise, every other character has some kind of ship effecting them.

i disagree that you have to plan ahead with your pulls. not because you're wrong, but because we don't get to actually know a characters kit(without leaks) until like a week before their banner. i would love to know every 3.0 characters kit and all the reruns per banner now and be able to plan ahead, but we can't. your gambling on the character you pulled for being relevant later

My hot take: it's dumb spending money on pulls for banners. F2P is the superior way to play, you actually work for stuff and that's fun, if you just whale you pull, clean the endgame due to your broken pulls and just shut down the game again. Idk who thinks spending a salary for a Gacha unit every four weeks is fun. Also "if no new 2 characters per patch we get less content" then is it good all the new content is just banners to spend money?

The F2P superiority complex never made sense to me tbh I personally make sure I get a copy of every character I like and their weapon, just so I have a degree of variety, and then maybe I’ll splurge a bit to go vertical on a favorite like Robin or Firefly. Playing purely F2P just isn’t fun to me, it’s far too limiting for the account. There’s a difference between whaling out for an E6 every banner and saying “oh it’s the last week of the banner and I’m not at pity yet lemme pop a pack and get the character I want”. Granted with my luck I don’t think I’ve needed to spend on pulls since Firefly eidolons, but still. The game is at its most fun when you’re willing to help yourself get what you want, not when you’re swiping a grand every three weeks, but also not when you’re scraping for every chest and skipping characters you may like.

@@milanesadearsenico Ignoring the fact that $250 is about a week's worth of part time minimum wage and not a salary, that's also not at all considering the fact that players who pay, namely low spenders, still play the game, and milk most of the free primos out of an event, and doesn't even start to consider the fact that you can simply get lucky. The last thing I spent for was E2 Firefly, I've gotten Yunli (will get cone on rerun), E0S1 Feixiao, E3 Robin (from an existing E2), Lingsha (same as Yunli), E0S1 Rappa, Aventurine, and I'm on the cusp of E0S1 Sunday (the last two of which I don't even like) from just free primogems. I don't get the F2P superiority complex, we're playing the same game, I'm just willing to put a little bit extra in to support the game and secure the things I want to play with. Swiping is a contingency for me, not a way of life, unless I love a character and the banners surrounding her are safe, ie whenever Robin's next rerun is.

as a person who likes getting characters (i have 19 characters and only 3 signatures), i dont see why being F2P is superior, like you really wants a character like The Herta, but you also want Sunday... Or you get really lucky, or you are just screwed, i became a light spender on Acheron rerun getting her E3 (from existing E1) and yet just dont see a point of being F2P.

31:00 nah acheron is totally fine, the only issue is that her ultimate ignores weaknesses. I know she's meant to be incredibly powerful, but that was what kicked off the trend of rainbow dpses, which has made been a feature of every major dps since. Acheron, boothill, firefly, feixiao, rappa. All recent dps, and the best of the best in current time. Boothill, Firefly and rappa get a pass because they specialise in break, but acheron and feixiao never should've had that. (Btw yes i know xueyi did it first but she's irrelevant, and she's a break dps so she gets a pass)

This is the response to Reir's Take: Yes I am enjoying Clearing and Perfecting stars in End Game cause that is the game all about. I don't get disappointed when I haven't gotten my Fav character from pulling because of losing the gacha since I don't have para social problems. I'm a hardcore player, (not a meta player) I would say, I have my goals to clear via Characters I have not because they're meta, and with that, I still have that adrenaline and surprise myself since I don't expect them to do better, but yeah it feels good to have 3 stars always with only limited characters you have that are Simultaneously Not meta and not your fav compared to getting your fav and you have less Stellar jade and you cannot pull anymore. FYI, i'm free to play.

2:39 problem is nostalgia bias + the cleaning up of the editing. Imma say it now: I kinda miss the old VAs from release, like Argeni, Huo Huo, and tail. You get used to the voices, so when they have to redo the lines, with people in different pitch/vocal ranges, it’s always going to sound off. To add on, it’s also a bit of a nostalgia bias: I got Huo Huo, Tingyun and used argenti all on release, and you get used to the voices, especially if u use them. When that familiarity changes, your prone to just feel weird about it, like having a favorite drink you go to your local pub for, only to find out it’s slightly different due to the normal barista being fired. Like genuinely, tingyun’s current VA isn’t bad, same with everyone else. (Still can’t unhear markiplier from Argenti tho.. XD) It’s just the fact that it sounds new, and kinda sloppy compared to before, since with the original, they say something else, but with the current direction, it’s made either more kid friendly. (Like tail’s voice lines in Huo huo’s ult.) or just made worst due to different takes. (Like tingyun’s current ult line.) I have an odd hunch I might do this with all the takes, but genuinely, kinda weird.
