The 14060M is a gorgeous watch, congrats to the viewer for getting it for a deal too Looks great on his wrist

I love the 14060M too; 2-line vs. 4-line, that's the dilemma!

My favorite Rolex. Fun to see all the eye candy and hear your expertise Auston.

Great choice. The 14060M he went with looks like it’s in an amazing condition maybe even unpolished

That’s the one I would get! 4-liner looks great IMO and it’s the last of a generation. Good one Austin!

The dial of the 16600 is just amazing. So balanced and classy. If i'm not mistaken the 116600's date window is more crooked. That bothers me a little, but I like the rest of that reference better.

In my experience, often the appraisal is based on the replacement price of the current model rather than the specific year/vintage. It also means your insurance premium will be higher so maybe not the best case. Great watch and def what I would have picked too.

The M is a great watch. I would just miss the extra heft of the 16600, which itself feels a bit flimsy compared to later iterations and certainly the 43mm.

Nice video, just missed the price for those Sea Dwellers. How much for those 16600 ?

I’m keen to know too. Will be in Tokyo next month and looking forward to hunt for a nice 16600/14060

Great video thanks, by the way, did Rolex ever make a sea dweller with drilled lugs and solid end links? Early 2000 around there may be? Thanks
@watchsymposium2 ай бұрын
Thanks! Sea-Dwellers up until 2002 had lug holes. And all 16600 had the solid end links. Even the prior model (16660) had the SEL bracelet.

Upvoted thanks Austin, my preference would be the 116600 Sea dweller. I think you own that reference too?

Wearing my 116600 as I watch. Was hoping for a curve ball and viewer tried on and compared to a Sub or 16600. 116600 reigns supreme IMO 😀

Hi there, I’m visiting Japan next year in May and I’m hoping on finding my first nice Rolex with a budget of 400k Japanse yen. Do you have any suggestions which Rolex I can go for and where to find these? Love your vids.
@watchsymposium2 ай бұрын
Thanks! You'll have to go vintage on that budget, like the gentlemen in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6eXdaaDg7-FbZo

Everyone with a Rolex Submariner thinks that it’s collectible. It’s not. 😊 Which is why there are thousands of Safe Queens for sale. Still for sale.
@watchsymposium2 ай бұрын
It's best to think of collectability as a continuum. On one end, you have "zero collectability"; think something like a run-of-the-mill Casio F-91W. On the other end, "extremely collectable"; think Paul Newman's Paul Newman Daytona. Subs are somewhere in the middle of that continuum. And much of it is subjective as to how collectible you consider them. But here's a good litmus test: 1. Do people want it? 2. Is it difficult to buy? 3. Is it difficult to find? If you answer "yes" to those questions, I'd argue you're in the realm of collectability.
