As someone who did track in highschool and junior high. It's an amazing sport. Like you said running at your own is the way to go. Don't try to out run everyone. Not all track meets do you need to be first. She's a good runner!!

No, you don't run your own race. No trophies for everybody. Dad needs to encourage her to always do her best.

As a former professional track athlete and coach, I can tell you your advice is how kids get injured. Every competition is not time to go 100%. She has not trained long enough to compete at optimal level. We’re not worried about pre-season recognition, we train to win championships.

@@FreeHugsProject then maybe you should keep her out until she's ready for injuries. Can't get around them. I can tell you that as a mother who raised 2 male athletes. Football, basketball, wrestling & shot put. 3 grandchildren- basketball & volleyball. 1 great grandson- football & basketball. You're either going to let her find her way, or loose her way.
