As many have stated, that is in the bible not to let the sun go down on your anger. But I believe there is a difference between going to bed hating one another versus going to bed and agreeing to put a topic on pause until both parties are in a better mood. I believe God is just teaching us to remain at a place of peace and purity of heart with one another even if that's telling your spouse you're upset and just want to let things cool down. Handling it that way sets the tone for the devil to know he ain't gonna disrupt the peace in your home even if we have not finished the conversation right now. Main goal is not letting the devil win and for married couples to reinforce a fortified wall of unity...even when it's just to unite with saying goodnight, we'll talk later.

I love this. After 30 years with my hubby. We use to have the worst arguments when we’re both tired. Sometimes you gotta walk away and go to bed and wake up and reevaluate what is important to you to continue to discuss. Before bed I spend time with God to check my pettiness bc sometimes it’s just me and if it’s me I repent and I let go and I start a new day of joy with my mate. This took 29 years to learn 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But my marriage is better! I love y’all Tab and chance!

I remember when Fridays with Tab and Chance first started and how shy/reluctant Chance would be looking. It's AMAZING to see the growth and openness from Him and how GOD has allowed him to open up! He has so much wisdom and realness inside that the world needs!! Tabitha KNEW that the world would benefit from her gift of a husband that God gave her! I could just hear Tab now in their privacy: "C'mon Bae, it's gone be fun and you got so much wisdom, the people need to hear." I want them to see what I see in you Bae." I could just hear it in my spirit, lol...Thank God that Chance gave it a "chance" because what you two possess in your togetherness is a gift to the world!!!! People need to see the authenticity that you to have and the world needs more of it! I thank God for y'all blessing the world with your humor, realness, authenticity and OBEDIENCE. Real recognizes REAL. ❤ Thank y'all Tab and Chance!!!!

Ephesians 4:29 also says do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only for helpful building of others according to their needs as a benefit to those who listen. When you are mad sometimes silence helps you to sin not and remain in peace to process better and more helpful choice of words. We all can learn in these tough moment amen

I'm with Chance. It's unrealistic to have the "don't go to bed angry" advice. When you're tired, you shouldn't be talking about things that make you angry. Sleep. Sleep. Tired people shouldn't argue. I'm full of nonsense when I'm exhausted.

@divine89 you can't believe that a Christian doesn't do every last single that's in the Bible. WOW, judgy much! They do what works for THEIR marriage and they seem to be thriving in it. IF you're a Christian you might want to take a self inventory and work on the things people CAN'T believe about you. You might want to come down off of your high horse, it's not very Christian like!

I have followed Tab for a long time and she is not going against the Word. What was stated here is simple.....do what works for YOUR relationship. She and Chance have had a successful marriage and relationship bc they found what works for them. If u really been paying attention, she is very much rooted in the Word and her personal relationship with God but ok. She actually addressed that very "scripture" about 6-7 minutes into the video.

Anger is an emotion like any other emotion. It's like saying, DONT go to bed happy. We put these labels of high and low vibrations or low/high on emotions. I can be angry and still forgive you. My emotions are to be processed and nobody is gonna rush my process. Period 😂 I had to learn this from my bff tho. Cuz I would rush her to be ‘OK’ in my presence. I think I would rush her for me to be OK. Selfishly. It was not realistic for me to out that pressure on her. It was toxic and major codependency issues for me to treat her like that. She process when she process and if I am the reason that she is angry, that's even more reason to give her time and space until she is ready to discuss. She might need time to process. Respect. Awareness (of you) is key!

The quote comes from the Bible. “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians‬ ‭4:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬. It is possible to do this every time the situation comes but only IF you’ve denied yourself and surrendered your life over to the Lord. Then your affections/feelings are crucified along with your flesh.🙌🏾 In Christ, we can fulfill this every time.

I believe in the power of-EXPERIENCE. That’s the best advice. Yesss tab. I think I could tell a couple what doesn’t work. Because at the end of the day-it may work for you and it didn’t work for me. My marriage ended at 36 years and what didn’t work for him or I is the lack of change within ourselves that made things difficult in the end. That caused one individual to say -this doesn’t work for me. All in all you have to put in the work-whatever it looks like for your marriage. Even if it means change. I fail miserably at changing and so for my ex. Critical things became critical. Our marriage had become cancerous and hit stages to which it died. So what doesn’t work is never changing or evolving as an individual. And trying to change each other should be off the table for your marriage journey. Thanks Chance and Tab. Your on point

"do what works for you" is a way to go about it... I'd like to summit that maybe taking that approach could be the problem... marriage reveals to us some of our biggest weaknesses, toxic behaviors, and blind spots...let's be curious about "our way" and investigate if there's a better way... especially if we continue to face the same challenges over and over...maybe changing is the best remedy

Tab shared she wasn't sure where the term came from. The term came from scripture. Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: neither give place to the devil. It is not the easiest thing to achieve and definitely can seem unachievable, but definitely a good principle when possible. I guess God's intent was to prevent things from festering. You guys did a great job of bringing sound human scenarios to this. You all are such a beautiful couple.

Sometimes your argument may start about he didn't wash the dishes tonight, and then it will turn into well 2 months ago I felt that you called me lazy because I forgot to get my clothes together for laundry. And you're not my Mother, and just a whole entire WTFudge. And you're like wait what, I don't know what just happened. Stuff can go left in a heartbeat, even though you're saying exactly what u mean. Your spouse or mate, just isn't ready to receive yet, so yes sometimes u have to patiently wait until u can have a calm cool and respectful conversation, which we all as adults know may take some TIMMMMMMME. That's not a typo, I'm only saying sometimes things have to marinate or slow cook before u can enjoy it. God bless u guys and your family.

Speaking for a married woman of 26 years I wanted to chime in with food for thought and do with it what you like because that's yo business... however the notion of not going to sleep angry is not for the other person as much as it is for you. No one thinks about if you find yourself on the other side of eternity in anger or unforgiven it may not be the resting place you prepared for! Just like forgiveness is for you, not going to bed angry is as well.

I love these talks. I think it’s helpful to really know your partner. If you have a partner who’s been through trauma or possibly has trouble letting go/sleeping when their mind is going or stressed, l think it’s worth considering to make a rule(s) for the health and well-being of both parties. I hope that makes sense.

That was some of the best advice, or non-advice, I’ve ever heard. My friend always had that “don’t go to sleep angry” mess. Sometimes you can’t solve the issue before you go to sleep. Sometimes the issue is so major, making up just for that reason isn’t even justifiable. Thanks Tab and Chance!

Hi Tab and Chance, read Ephesians 4:26 and 27. The Bible instructs us to not go to bed angry. The New King James Version says, “Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath”. The Message Version actually says “Don’t go to bed angry…..it gives the enemy (the Devil) a foothold.” Love you both and I felt compelled to share ❤
