I should point out that although Gojira was the first metal band to play at the Olympics. Don't forget that Andreas Kisser of Sepultura did play the guitar intro of Chaos A.D. during the closing ceremony of the Paralympics in Rio 2016. However with that said, I personally think what Goijra did is a huge win for metal fans around the world.

As a French dude into music but not so much into metal, I heard about Gojira before but never watched a performance. Well, I have now and found it really really nice. Spectacular and so on point! No doubt this will raise Gojira’s profile across the general population in France and beyond. As for the song itself, “Ah! Ça ira!”… it is indeed a revolutionary song , and it can indeed be translated into “We’ll be fine”, but most of the song is about hanging aristocrats, although most of them were actually beheaded. As Marie-Antoinette holding her own head in her hands reminds us during Gojira’s song… No relation whatsoever with the above… how much for your hair?
