I remember my first time on a plane (2nd time actually cuz we were going home). I was listening to goijra on my sony bluetooth earbuds. Literally the moment we were going from ground to sky, the rising part, I heard this part of the song. While having the view of Austria below me hehe. The sky is all over me. And I was like, holy shit. I didn't plan that. Was amazing.

A Gojira song not many people mention, yet is beautiful, is 'Low Lands'. It's quite a calm song, compared to the rest of their work, but it has a vibe to it, with Joe (the singer) doing some clear vocals. I'm sure you'd enjoy this song. And I'd love to hear your opinion about it.

The anxiety in Joe's voice is what makes this song for me. The riff and composition of the song is so simple but the expression in the vocals are to die for. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. The breathlessness and angst in his voice just elevate this song to another level and as a guitar player I rarely give a shout out to the singer!

@@NotQuietRight Eh, everyone has their opinions, but from someone who had only heard of Gojira as a big name in the last ten+ years, Shooting Star had a unique sound to it. I had heard a little bit of their guitar riff work, and of Mario's drum skills, so The Cell and Low Lands stuck out to me, too. Yeah, after following them for the last 2 years now, I def feel that they shift from album to album, but overall, _From Mars to Sirius_ has the best sound to me. Some might say _Magma_ doesn't hold true to how Gojira used to be, but bands change all the time, and I still enjoy the sound of that album, too.

I've always thought Gojira was the perfect execution of that "vocals as an instrument" thing Edit: Also, I'm pretty sure the screaming/yells are usually referred to as harsh vocals, and/or harshness as a quality. So having a note as the backing, and putting some heat, or harshness on top of it, is what gives you those pitched yells. Or in the case of where the pitch is less recognizable, it's usually on the lower or higher end of the vocalist's range, with the heat turned all the way up. Maybe this will make it easier to talk about, i dunno.

Another awesome thing about Gojira is they don't cuss or use negative energy in their music. Positivity, Life, Love and experience. Gojira is the pinnacle of music and they are an amazing example of what humanity should strive for. Truly amazing people.

Clone from their first album "Terra Incognita" is banger of a track. I will suggest this one since Terra Incognita doesn't get much love in KZbin communities.

The Gojira song I've most looked forward to you doing, as it's the one that got me into the band to begin with. That transition at the 26-ish second mark into the song and the riff they repeat for most of the track really grabbed me; it puts me into a trance almost every time I come across it. I know you're doing all these re-reactions to artists you've visited before but I wouldn't be doing my self diligence if I didnt bring up Sylosis yet again! Tracks like Mercy and Leech really give off a similar vibe to what Gojira does in how they do these build-ups to the different breaks in the song

Couple of suggestions I'd love to see you dissect. I've not seen you do cover songs before, but there's two Tool covers I find amazing and would love you to choose either one: Brass Against - The Pot Beard of Harmony - Right in Two First is an American brass band with a female vocalist, second is an Indian band with a live recording from a rooftop in Bangalore. Both are great covers for different reasons.
