So clarification on Brain-kun/pseudo Geto. The brain is a separate entity from Geto. Gojo really did kill Geto at the end of JJK0. All through season 1 Geto hasn’t been Geto as we know him from the movie or the Hidden Inventory arc. As for their techniques. Brain-kun’s technique is to pass from body to body by replacing someone’s brain with themselves. By doing so they not only gain control of the body, but also can make use of that body’s original technique. So in this case Brain wanted Geto’s Curse Manipulation for reasons. As you touched on, this is why Gojo’s Six Eyes were fooled. The Cursed Energy and Cursed Technique etched into Geto’s body are all still present. You’ll get more clarification on Brain-kun as the season/series goes on. What’s important to know now is Gojo is sealed, Pseudo Geto is literal big brain, and all hell has broken loose.

Long term viewer but first time commenter lol. This is the gist of the reveal: Gojo did kill Geto at the end of JJK0. However, because of his attachment to Geto, Gojo didn’t have Shoko dispose of the body properly, which inadvertently allowed this curse to hijack his body, who needed his Cursed Manipulation technique to carry out this very plan. This is why “Geto” was always working from the shadows, making other curses or sorcerers put up veils and such for him, because he couldn’t risk leaving residual cursed energy that Gojo could detect. He needed Gojo to be completely blindsided by the reveal so that Prison Realm would capture him.

Consider the brain as it’s own character outside of Geto. Someone we haven’t met. The brain doesn’t belong to anyone, except the original body he was born with, which has since then been discarded to hop into other bodies. So at this point it is it’s own character, essentially. When Gojo dealt the killing blow on Geto back in JJK0, Gojo didn’t have Shoko deal with his body, out of respect for Geto, his former best friend, seeing as Shoko was basically the Nobara of their trio, and that would have sucked for her, as well. In this moment, Brain took the opportunity to get into Geto’s body, obviously using whatever body he had beforehand to open the head and insert himself into Geto’s head.

There’s one thing I’m not sure about and that is when Gojo was out killing all of those transfigured humans, why didn’t he start with the Special Grade curses? Just chop off those three first and then go on to hunt the other ones. Surely one Mahito would be able to deal much more damage than one transfigured human. But again these kind of things happen for the sake of the story so yeah, it is what it is I guess. 26:55 That is indeed not Geto. We know him by many names like “Not-Geto/Pseudo-Geto” and “Brain thing” or “Brain-kun” or whatever, but my personal favourite is “Ge-two”. This mf really took over Geto’s body. He really did die in JJK0. We’ve been played since forever. T-T (Now you can also understand why people were fussing over the stitches that he had in S1 compared to JJK0 movie. This brain thing somehow transplanted itself in him.) You can also tell the difference by how Geto behaved when talking about Gojo. He didn’t have any kind of emotion, unlike in JJK0. He referred to Gojo by his full name (except at the end when he intentionally wanted to deceive him) while Geto considered him his best friend and called him Satoru even when he wasn’t around. I’d have expected you to jump out of your seat with the Geto reveal but I guess it didn’t register instantly (Kinda AoT 2x6 vibes lol). That’s pretty much it. We’ve been thrown into the chaos of Shibuya and in a few episodes absolute mayhem is about to unfold. Really excited! Keep up the good work!

Gojo was too strong for the plot, my man had to locked up 😭 Also some details on the game our villains are playing in this ep. It’s called Mahjong and an Original 4-person version. Basically, the scoring in the game relies on collecting tiles to create sequences of certain kinds (kind of like Poker). The more unlikely the sequence you achieve, the better your score. So it rewards someone for attempting a very difficult sequence due to the difficulty and risk and accomplishing it. In the anime, looks like maybe the Mahjong sequence "Thirteen Orphans" is played, which is a difficult one to achieve in the game with very low odds of success. So the imagery here is that defeating Gojo was one with insanely low probability of success, but "Geto" managed to gamble big with the slow game of collecting and positioning his pieces to win.

To explain the brain situation: That is NOT geto. Gojo killed geto in jjk 0 on their last encounter. However, he didnt cremate him or let shoko (the morgue lady) handle the body, so it got hijacked by an unknown entity we know as "the brain" who can hop from one corpse to another. The brain is its own character. Its able to use geto's innate technique (curse manipulation) and has access to his memories (thus knowing a lot of info on gojo and jujutsu high in general). The anime will touch on the brain further.

Regarding Getos brain: [Spoiler?] You guessed correctly, the brain within Getos body is not Geto himself, but someone/something we dont know about at this point in the story. As it was said in the episode: it has the ability to take over the body of a sorcerer and the innate techniques of him/her that were etched into it. If the brain would be inside gojo instead of geto for example, it would be able to use his innate technique (limitless) and probably also his six eyes, since they are a physical attribute rather than a technique
