This is an excellent recording. Thanks a million. I'm more into kungfu myself, but being chinese, we applaud anyone with authentic kungfu ("skills") of any sort.We understand the concept of merit, as do the okinawans and the japanese.More importantly, culturally, we understand the true value of the martial philosophy. The sensei here is a true master...gentlespoken, friendly, constructive, concerned about the preservation and appreciation of his style.I am willing to bow respectfully to guys like him.

Higaonna Sensei is so awesome! He is such a great karateka and teacher. I felt these students did not realize the pearls of wisdom Sensei was sharing, however.

Thank you for uploading this excellent seminar and for English subtitles. For those who have referred to Kickboxers being able to "Floor" Goju Ryu practitioners I would add the following. It's much easier to learn kick boxing than be fully proficient in Goju. It takes quite a while - say 8 years before Goju practitioners have the confidence to use the moves demonstrated here. I know the amount of conditioning kickboxers do and I have great respect for them but it is nothing compared to goju

I wouldn’t recommend kicking a Goju practitioner. Do they really need another limb?

It was in Hong Kong or other city in China, please let me know, thanks. From what I know there is not much IOGKF branch in China. I learned it when I was in Netherlands.

Its so interesting to watch the circus around this guy how their body language looks and how they display humbleness to attract his attention..Martial arts is such a funny animal. Kata never changes but people dont change in their very egotistic existence. Breathing will always be breathing..movement will always be movement and people will always be people.

...I can't figure it out because I am really out of practice... but all those exercises looks really bad for knees, ankles, elbows, wrists, and spine. All of those are all are characterized by a sudden change in weight, which is usually very harmful to the joints . So... the only way I can imagine to make them properly is being already trained. Otherwise, welcome to Acute inflammation and osteoporosis...

Then comes an street fighter or a ring fighter and all this stuff comes to be unusefull. Beautifull way of life indeed, but full of useless exercises.

Dude, this Sensei will ruin your day right quick, You obviously have know idea how well trained Sensei Higaonna is. Trust me he don't look like much but can probably withstand getting hit by a Mack truck. Have a look at his hands they are bigger than the Hulk's
