The name "Gokū" translates to "Wake to Vacuity" or "Conscious of Emptiness"- same name as the Monkey King from Journey to the West, whom Goku is based on Aside from vacuity/emptiness/void, the character "kū" can also mean "sky", so in-universe, Gohan named Gokū that cause he fell from the sky (Toriyama established this many years later in spin-off material)

Goku's nickname for Eighter in Japanese is Hachan. It's a combination of Hachi, the number 8, and Chan, an honorific typically used for cute things like kids and pets. Always wondered why Toriyama had Goku call him chan instead of kun, just assuming it's to have the joke of his name being to cute for how strong and menacing he seems at first glance.

Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are just parts of the same story, in the manga it's just "Dragon Ball", even when the saiyans appear, the cell saga, etc. The "Z" addition is just an anime thing, not sure why it was not left as just Dragon Ball like in the manga. The Dragon Ball story begins when Goku meets Bulma and ends with the Boo saga, that's the canon story written by Toriyama in the manga, adapted by the DB and DBZ anime. So it's not that DBZ copied things from DB, it's just that the android saga is a continuation of the Red Ribbon arc, and the concept of the RR army using robots and androids that could be destroyed with a remote device was born with these episodes and it makes sense that the same concept was used for the later androids as a way to try to keep them under control. However in the later sagas there are other repeated concepts like the enemy's many transformations (Freezer-Cell-Boo) or the saiyans powering up to defeat these enemies, which imo was taken maybe too far already in the Boo saga, but in Super it just got ridiculous, and again imo it shouldn't be compared with the quality of the original Dragon Ball story (DB and DBZ in the anime). For me Super is basically another GT, a "what if Dragon Ball had not ended when Toriyama stopped writing the manga", the quality is mostly far inferior and the Toei people just wanted more and more saiyan transformations and new characters to sell more toys, and Toriyama was ok with it because it meant more money to have a nice life for his last ten years or so (rip), kind of like George Lucas is ok with all the Disney sh*t because that means more money from toys and merchandise, but nothing will ever be as great as the original Dragon Ball (manga, DB and DBZ in the anime) or the original Star Wars movies. Yet I wish both Super and the Disney SW stuff was much much better... :-/

I think Goku means something like awakening to emptiness. That's why it's in Migatte no Gokui (Ultra Instinct), which is fighting with an empty mind. Goku is also just the japanese name for Sun Wukong who he is based on

If krillin took out Android 18 during the cell saga. By the time of the Buu saga none of the Z fighters would have been strong enough to face Deborah who himself was as strong as perfect cell. Goku wouldn't have received any of the other world training which means no Super Saiyan 3 transformation or fusion technique. They all would have possibly achieved Super Saiyan 2 but that's it. Which also means they would not have been as powerful as they were during the arrival of beerus.

They definitely would've been strong enough to handle Dabura after 7 years of training. Vegeta was able to surpass Super Perfect Cell without Goku there to motivate him. While Goku might not have reached SSJ3, it wouldn't have mattered in the grand scheme of things once he did the SSG ritual. And had Buu managed to get free they still would've inevitably learned about potara fusion once Supreme Kai took one of them to pull out the Z sword.

If you think it's mind blowing to think about the seeds that been planted with the androids and eighter that is crazy but there something else that happens in muscle tower similar but in my opinion is wayyyyy more like wow can't believe and I watched all 9f db dbz dbgt dbs like I watched it all and I never realized this until you pointed out that thing with eighter no spoilers here but I am curious if you'll get it when you get to that point.
