One trick I've learned thats actually pretty cool involves Goku black's 2S. His 2S can not go into an airdash but it does have the same animation as jS. So sometimes I'll condition someone using 2s and then I'll do 5LL into jS and hit them with a jL, jM, or jH. It doesn't always work and they'd have to block low but it definitely catches people when they're not really expecting it, it also helps if you put an assist behind it. But it's also useful because if you notice they're able to react to the 2S, you can bait them with the jS and if you manage to do that, then you can use 2S and it's sort of a mind game. Not the best ever but just something I've picked up to have a little fun

@@daniloka42 Yeah I've done it once or twice but depending on how you space it, it's really hard to get a crossup. Since you can't jS out of anything other than 5L, you have to make sure that you're close enough to actually do the crossup and GB's 5L reaches pretty far. But it's definitely a good way to get into your opponents head, lmk if you find a better way to cross up out of the jS!

For me my issue is playing with him sucking at mix and his moves being meh for so long that my brain is wired to just not use certain moves or combo routes without realizing that most of the moves I tried not to use are now super good. My Muscle memory actively fights me as I play Rose but due to playing Baseku and his weaker version for such a long time I actually have a really good Neutral game now.

Training combos are quite good, and help you get a grasp of how a character can link certain moves into others. I’d recommend anyone new to this character to just do combo challenge, and see what is possible. None of the combos require assists, either.

I found a TOD using the assist combo 2 example. 2 bar starter, does need spark. I did it pre sparked, don't know how you would spark mid combo so fyi. And the only thing you need to do is 2S>5L5H5S>236S>SD. That is the only addition. After the 214s just level 1, level 1, level 3

Whenever i do the oki, 2LL always comes out instead of the teleport, unless i delay it but the enemy is already teched at that point

The 5L is only there to framekill and auto-time the setup, if you do it too fast though you will get 4LL. As long as you set the dummy to Vanish or 2H on recovery and you counterhit them out of it you've done it correctly.

7:39 Wanna ask, frametraps can beat mashing right? But in general, what examples of loophole in a blockstring can blocking players look for where they can counter through mashing? I.e what are the scenarios in FighterZ where players are incentivized to mash/normal attack?

Mashing includes mashing any button, jumping constantly and trying to counter. Theres scenarios where mashing is the right answer, like to not get grabbed or to take your turn back when they try to reset pressure or in just in general to punish sloppy/loose mix

Immediately after the jump cancel you gotta hold back. It's a bit tricky to get used to, if you like you can also do regular jump cancel into Light and only then start holding back for the second Light. Same thing
