I swear he "intentionally" forgot since she is so much like the narrative changes he makes in DBZ. The sweet, innocent, naive person with a heart of gold can changing into a blonde powerhouse ready to fight anyone. Sounds a lot like the Saiyan to Super Saiyan transformation... well, before the Super Saiyan became just an endless stacking of "forms" on top of the last one.

It’s a shame that the Dragon Ball series is basically just the Goku show. One Piece and many other shows with ensemble casts give the other characters a chance to shine; in most boss fights on One Piece there are several bosses and everyone gets someone who scales with them to fight. Why was that never replicated here?
