Once you start telling people the reason you are cleaning up the joints in the sidewalk, you are going to attract extra attention, taking time away from what you are doing, causing a crowd to gather, and the next thing, the cops telling you to move on. Not sure if it's been mentioned before - But if you ever do this kind of thing again a UV Light would be super useful for filming/showing things. Diamonds shine a nice blue color under the UV light and make it really easy to see them in the dark like that.

Always been fascinated with prospecting and treasure hunting. I'm from Oklahoma, and we have several tales of buried loot, one even near Ft. Sill that the army searched for at one time, as it was stolen from military payroll wagon and buried near the fort by the surviving outlaw. And people have found caches of silver coins hidden by confederates during the civil war. I've been to the Rockies, once to pan, and twice to search for Forrest Fenns treasure up near Yellowstone(which is amazing if you get out onto trails or over to Gallatin Natl. forest, where it is much less crowded). I always wanted to go to Alaska and pan in a virgin area to see if I could find anything substantial. These videos of yours are very satisfying to watch. Thank you, and maybe you can search in Oklahoma one day.

I own a jewelry store in NY. My partner stayed in our store as I spent everyday on 47th st. There was a guy that used to pan the street every day. I covered him on my Facebook page. Most of the dust is from the thousands of jewelers walking the street that have dust on them From working on jewelry all day. I have personally in the 20 years of being on the street lost over $5k-10k worth of jewelry and diamonds. The money on that street is unreal. People loosing diamonds and not even looking for them. Here's what I'm guessing from watching your sidewalk crack prospecting vids - I don't think that being next to a gold or gem or jeweler shop has anything to do with it. I believe it's just an odds game of years and years of foot traffic in more affluent areas. Eventually precious metals and gems drop and find their way into cracks.

I think what you found a lot of is platinum for peoples vehicles exhaust

Any platinum is microscopic (from the catalytic converters), and would be melted down with the gold. When I tested the end product for Platinum, it was negative.
