Jack, this was a great video I needed it I just picked up a gold bug for 100 bucks. I didn’t know they were that good so I started asking around and man when he was pulling those cactuses out of you. I felt that shit God I hate those things.
@RandyLunn3 жыл бұрын
Yep, pulling cactus needles out of me, my shoes and my clothes is the number one use of my Leatherman tool when detecting. I always wear long pants and snake guards. The snake guards are really gaiters to prevent cactus bites.
@phrunt3 жыл бұрын
You needed to press the horse shoe button with the Equinox for it to pick up the nuggets, as with the GM they're small so they'd likely respond in the negative numbers.

The gold monster will find gold so small that you can't pick it up with your fingers. What's more it'll detect gold so small that you can't recover with a scoop. So long as the ground isn't mineralised. On hot ground you'll struggle to pick up anything that isn't loud enough to stand out from the ground noise. You should always use manual mode as high sensitivity as possible. Gold makes a different sound to hot rocks so just have to train your ear to spot it out.

The pulse I'm sure would work better on the tiny gold using a smaller coil. Also a Garrat GMT and XP ORX would do well on the tiny nuggets :)

Once again, a GREAT VIDEO! Thanks Jack! Man, that cactus hurt! Yep, I never go out without long pants and boots. You never know what might bite ya, sting ya, poke and prick ya! Long pants and boots is Good Preparation for a successful adventure in any situation. Yeah, I got white legs, and safer that way out in the field. Horse flies and wasps can't crawl up the legs unawares. The GB2 has more Khz's to find the gold, thus should find more gold and deeper, (you would think), but the GM has a better reputation. Easier set up and go. Anything that has 14Khz and up will find gold nuggets, just not as good, or deep? Hmm.

I was out on Steve's gold eye claim last weekend I had my axiom with the mono coil it got spanked by the gold monster 1000 and the GPX6000 so clear on targets but according to Garrett, they said I need to reset my axiom as I must have had some settings boogered up and to use the DD that it's more sensitive than the AXIOM's mono. Now I want to go back out and confirm that

I have had both and got rid of my monster and stuck with the Gold Bug 2. It seems to pick up the smaller stuff and alow me to tune it just how I like it on whatever ground I'm on. Also I kinda like manual ground balancing. I used to check it every 20 min or when I hit different ground but whe I check it it seems to stay ground balanced I've found a lot of gold with it dame with the monster they are both great machines I just prefer the gb2.

Cool, I have both - we'll see what you have to say on the subject - before you start, although I've had the gb2 for a while, the monster is much more user friendly - now on to the show (countdowns under a minute) (after thoughts) - luv the idea of using a small gold test card to calibrate with - guess I have the older version of the gb2, looks like they tuned it to be less noisy in the hot stuff (don't know if thats good or bad) - think I'll start bring a card out with a small piece of gold glued to it, lol - still like my monster a little better, we'll see

If you want to be popular, cool and like saying "Gold Monster" to impress the lads, then Gold Monster is for you! Fishers 73 KHZ is Big and GM as all other high freq vlf are all late to the GB2 1990s game! They will all try to get close to 73 KHZ and tell you it's confusing to operate the GB2? That tells you they are paid royalties by ML or get a free unit for this worthless comparison. So buy a Monster and tell everyone it's better or as good but in the end it just falls in between the GMT and the GB2. In the last 30 years VLF hasn't changed no matter how you package it. Just my view as ML dominates the Pulse market and rightfully so they are great! But this machine is Not as good as the GB2 and just a foreign company trying to lure customers away from an American Manufacturer with better marketing and inferior product. Just the Idiotic comment above saying the GB is like a Garrett Scorpion and both are lead finders but not the Gold monster? Looks like this fella is trying imply the Gold Monster has lead discrimination! That Crazy Little Gold Monster! Who would have thought?
