Glad you did this experiment. The resale value of the switches is definitely higher than the value of the gold content. And with the money from the resale, you can buy gold! Ive bought used equipment as well, hoping to use it for precious metal recovery, but all the work just to depopulate the boards isnt worth the time.

Totally. I’ve got 6 more of these on my eBay store and they aren’t moving at all. I think there’s so much material out there, you really need to get lucky with who views your eBay account and who really wants to buy. The other problem with these switches is they are so heavy. I had to turn down two offers because they would have cost me more in shipping than the cost of the switches+taxes+eBay fees+shipping. Too bad I can’t get anyone near me to want to set up a network in a small / medium sized business. For now, they will sit in the box and wait for the right buyer. Lucky for me, I enjoy the scrap process and enjoy recovering/recycling. It’s a hobby that pays back in sustainable value items. All good. Thank you for the view!

I would say a couple of water rinses and make sure all the hydrochloric acid is out and then do a Nitric boil then rinse and filter if you're looking for something like two or three nines fine

Hi. No I don’t. I buy them from Amazon.

Another scrapper I watch: moose scrapper says that scrap is always the lowest value for an item. If it can be sold, sell it.

This is very true!

Theoretically, you have gold that nobody “knows” you have. Minus this video of course. Just keep stacking it away, and you will have a few ounces set to the side in a short time.
