Thank you so much for the kind words and the view. Do not worry about the French, I understood just fine. Thank you again.

There is frequently platinum or palladium in ic chips. Sometimes as much as the gold amount.

Maybe one day I’ll be able to recover that from my waste. I’ve no idea how yet as I’ve only focused on gold… and video production :)

@7:21 still incorrect. 😊 Conical flask it is. I just knew that funnel and beaker is not correct so had to look it up as I could not remember the name of it too. I enjoy your videos as you are very thorough. At the end I see most people use sulfuric acid to clean the bead.

HAHAHA… I know. It’s amazing how much my mind works as I’m talking through these videos. I was thinking the whole time, I don’t know how to pronounce this thing’s name and I don’t want to stop and look it up. I just looked it up, and yes, conical flask is correct. Also Erlenmeyer flask. I’ve still no idea how to pronounce it. That’s what they are sold as on Amazon. I really appreciate your feedback and “@7:21 still incorrect” cracked me up immediately because I knew someone would identify that! :). Thanks a ton for the view and the great comment! Yup, sulfuric is the way to go quickly, I can’t seem to stop dumping it down my tub drain to rid my home plumbing of the family hair. :)

Real hard to say what the contaminate would be. Dropping with SMB will bring pgm's with it. Could always inquart it with silver and drop with copperas (ferrous sulfate). I've never had a dirty drop using it. It does require some extra preparation but is very effective.

I have heard great things about ferrous sulfate also. I may try that for refining in the near future. I appreciate your view and your comment.

add to your list on how to assure no free nitric acid, evaporate to a syrup until there are no more fumes, then rehydrate with HCl
@KKRRenewables5 ай бұрын
This is a good one to add to the list. Thank you!

Another question: Instead of using sulphamic acid to drop any lead in the AR solution and neutralise any free nitric, can I use the acid I can easily get, free-of-charge, by drilling into an old car battery ? Or is that sulphuric acid saturated with lead and actually counterproductive ??

Thank you for the view and the comment. I am not sure of that answer. If you find it, come back and let us know.

Hello, sometimes is gold bead "frosty", but XRF shows 99.8% purity. I clean gold with cupelation (from pins, after AP), looks like that sometimes, but in fact is 99+ clean. Good enough for recovery, refining later...

Agreed! Thanks for the feedback.

Popular ways to achieve "No Free Nitric". I think, the most commonly used (watching dozens of other refiners' videos) is by adding urea. What do you think ?
@KKRRenewables6 ай бұрын
I’ve seen lots of other KZbin creators do that. I didn’t have urea and have never used it.

forgot to ask, are you using propane or mapp gas? edit to add, when you want to remove flux from a bar or bead, most of the people I've seen use 10% sulphuric acid, especially if it's silver
@KKRRenewables5 ай бұрын
I use mapp for melting my gold. But for burning chips I use propane and a garden torch so I don’t have to be near the smokes or bend over. Ha!
Likely yes. I will pull those out and refine the gold on second refining. Thanks so much for the view and the comment!

You do realise that AP solution will also dissolve some of your gold ... the longer you leave it, the more it will dissolve ! Pure muriatic acid will not dissolve any gold at all. So, personally, I would NOT add the peroxide. What do you think ? Ah, watching on, I see you performing a stannous chloride test on the AP solution and it's negative ... so that is reassuring !
@KKRRenewables6 ай бұрын
Yep. I always stannous test. But yes, oxygen + AP can dissolve some gold.
