Beautiful pic of bond wires. In macro shot looks like a ton of gold.🙂

Yes, I was pretty happy with the macro shots of the gold bond wires. Those Agilent chips have lengthy bond wires. Not too bad for holding an iPhone up to a microscope lens with no eye relief. Thank you very much for the view and the comment.

I would think that there would have been some vaporization of the gold from the burning of the chip... It also didn't look like you had enough Flux to protect the recovery to me but I've only worked with silver this way so I don't know for sure... I honestly didn't think that you would get anything much this way... Awesome video subscribed

Thank you for the view and the comment! I’m fairly new and still feel like a newbie here. Can you tell me more about the “flux to protect the recovery”? Gosh, I hope I’m not vaporizing gold. I can use my laser temperature meter and see how hot it’s getting. Gold’s boiling point is 2,856 °C or 5,173 °F. We’ll see! Thanks so much!

i have 25kg of motherborads should i depopulate them and separately process chips, bga and pins for gold and sliver, Would it be profitable to recover gold from it or sell the whole motherboard to computer shops for profit or should i collect some more motherboards like 50kg and then process it for gold [ Im very new to this just recently started collecting e-waste]

Hey and thank you for your view and comment. Unfortunately, the answer is “it depends”. It depends on the age of the MBs. It depends on the grade of the MBs. Older telecom boards are great. Startup costs for my journey were about $1000. And that did not include any raw gold ewaste materials purchased or any equipment for content creation. If you want money, then for sure sell them to some place like boardsort or sellGPU. If you want the precious metals, start depopulation. Once you do though, not many places will want to buy your scrap or they give you pennies for pounds. If you go for the metals, it’s a fun hobby. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.
