This was a random recommended video. And it's amazing that it showed up. My first vehicle was a 77 Trans Am 6.6L Y82 car that sat in a neighbor's yard under a tree. I worked out a deal when I was 13 that I would cut his grass and edge the curb, driveway, and walkway every week during spring and summer and once a month during fall and winter until I was 17 and he would give me the car. The only thing wrong with it was the engine had a blown head gasket. So after school I was reading Chilton and Mitchell service manuals to learn how to pull the heads. When I started driving my first job was at my local GM dealership as a line technician. I told many techs about my car and nobody believed the story. Until! I turned 17 and I was handed the keys and the original bill of sale and registration for the car. I immediately pulled the heads off and went to a machine shop owned by a friend of the family. I then apprenticed with him for a few months to pay for the valve job and other machine work and a head gasket set. I put my engine back together and by that time it needed a master cylinder, and wheel cylinders. So I took the reliable Nissan Maxima i had and sold it to buy what I needed. Over that weekend I fixed the brakes, and bleed the brake system. Bought 4 new tires and a new battery. Monday I skipped school and detailed my T/A and Tuesday was the most popular kid in school. When I left school to go to the dealership I pulled up to the service writers desk and cleared the 400's throat. I TOLD YOU I HAD A TRANS AM! The owner was in shock. I guess he thought I was a fool and offered me $2,000 for the car. I told him that "nothing less than blood sweat and tears would ever buy this car". And I have 5 minutes to get clocked in so I need to go park it. He said if you're not going to sell me the car then I'm going to fire you and you'll fail automotive tech for the year. I told him that is fine. See I am actually a really good student and I had enough credits at the beginning of the year to graduate with honors. So I quit, and you'll never own this car. I drove back to school and told my instructor what had happened. He passed me with 100 anyways despite the rule if you get fired or quit you automatically fail. I kept my car and in original condition until 2009 when a uninsured driver t-boned me going to a shop to have his car looked at because he had no brakes. The driver never paid a dime for that. All I could do is have his license suspended until he pays me. The worst part is that my car was valued at $1100. That's it. But since he has shown no remorse for destroying my car even if he comes up with the money I'm not releasing his license for a penny less than 20k. I understand the sentimental value of a vehicle like this family. I hope they either have their fathers T/A or find it one day.

My favorite car of all time is the Pontiac Trans Am. As a kid I remember the Trans Am being the first car to spark excitement in my seven year old imagination then only to be fueled by Knight rider and the Bandit. The day Pontiac died it broke my heart. I still haven't caught that elusive phoenix yet but my passion is stronger than ever and soon I will have one to call my own. I love the passion and dedication Trans Am Depot have for this iconic machine. The story of his dad's Trans Am choked me up. Thank you for keeping it alive.

In 1979 I finally started making enough money to buy a car I wanted. So I found a 76 Vette from a dealer near my house. We agreed but the Vette needed motor mounts. Upon returning to sign the deal the Vette was gone. The dealer told me a Lady came in, had to have it , and paid the window sticker price. Then I saw it. A Myan red 78 Trans Am. Black velour interior, automatic. Hood decal delete. What a nice car. It had a Pioneer stereo system with cassette. The car handled so nice for its size, Radial Tuned Suspension. All I did was remove the resonator for some added grunt. Boy would I love to have the new 455 Super Duty Trans Am. What a great job I love it.

Not sure if anyone noticed he said they milked a 1100 cows a day. That is a big dairy farm and that's twice a day seven days a week. My hats off to who ever worked that farm. To anyone who has anything bad to say about these guys must not have any idea what kind of work it take to run a farm that size. I know from personal experience what it takes but on a much smaller level. My first car was a 78 Firebird no motor no transmission and my 2and car was a 78 Trans Am. So I understand how these guys feel about the Trans Am and other Pontiac cars. I would give anything for them to take my 2018 2SS 1le and turn it in to a worldwide Trans Am. The only thing stopping me is the small fee they charge to make dreams come true. Lol. I can't complain the good lord has aloud me to get up every morning and work hard for what I do have and I am very grateful. I wish he wouldn't have sold it. I tried so hard to get him to hold onto it, but he said he couldn't afford to restore it like he wanted. I'd love to be able to get him a fully restored 78 just like he had, or one of these new ones as they are absolutely incredible. My grandfather worked at a Pontiac dealership his entire life, so my family always had Pontiacs when I was growing up. They made a bad mistake getting rid of them.
