Silver is currently undervalued as investor demand has favoured gold as the reserve metal. Silver now has a better 'potential' to make significant future returns. Traditionally silver is slower to respond to price increases than gold during inflation but then tends to catch up and ultimately gain momentum and move faster and higher over a short period of time. Take the current 3 year position in (US $) : Gold is up 12.65% but Silver is down by 17.27%. For silver merely to 'catch up' in relative terms with gold, price movements will require an increase of 29.92% There are additional factors to consider: 1) Silver demand is greater than supply (and has been over the past 4 years). 2) Silver to gold ratio is 89:1 but silver is now only being mined at 8 :1 or less. 3) Silver is a monetary metal but "new" industry demand exists for applications that will not work without silver. These include electronics (from cellphones to military use), and also, the green industry as an oil replacement (in global warming terms) for energy generation and transport, i.e. PV and EV. Silver is also 'needed' for medical (microbial) products and also water purification and hundreds of other industrial uses not foreseen in the past when silver demand was primarily determined as a monetary metal with additional use in jewellery (still in high demand) and flatware etc. Silver is not like a fiat currency. More cannot be printed to increase supply and current silver mining supply offers little scope to increase supply either.

That's the point. Silver prices are being held down in order to profit from shorting but given the fundamentals of supply shortages from 2025 onwards and in particular in the Shanghai silver market. Remember industrial demand for silver MUST be met to continue operations. So shorting is becoming a risky strategy when the owners of 'new' Silver (mostly miners) are holding all the cards and considering this may decide the price they will sell direct. Industry Silver buyers would have to "compete" to deal directly with miners to "secure" their Silver supply and that is the paradigm shift. Where will the likes of COMEX and LME secure their silver? What then for the "price" and the shorting ?

If the purchasing numbers are real, then above ground silver is certainly abundant. But ultimately the comex will be depleted since demand will outstrip supply. Outside of comex there's still huge inventories apparently. Time will tell soon of silver continues to be hoarded and held.

What stinks is this, when gold and silver do hit their REAL price, what are we going to transition into? Fiat? No. We won't be able to pay off houses, buy houses or even buy food with silver dimes. It would have to be a barter/silver/gold hybrid system. The only other scenario that would work is having gold and silver and other metals tokenized and put into the crypto system. How is that going to work? You will need a digital ID, your own wallet, I love commodity money, but unless there is a national, uniform system, in a currency crash, its going to be the barter/gold/silver system.

Good interview but he seems to be confused between the LBMA and the LME. The LME is the base metals futures exchange that was acquired by HKEx in 2011, trading Copper, Aluminium, etc. They recently announced an intention to allow warehouses in Hong Kong into their warehouse network.
