2020 all mining stocks dropped and silver fell to $12 an oz the then they took off to $30 an oz and 1oz eagles to upto $48. I it looks like now is close to early 2020. Sell near the top and repurchas at the bottom at the bottom of the bust. That is what my take on this interview is. Very smart man.

More money doesn’t cause inflation! Printing currency based on nothing IS inflation. Prices change non-stop through the Law of Supply and Demand. The increase in supply of currency based on nothing (fiat currency) means more currency chasing the same goods pressures prices. As velocity flushes it through the system, however, consumers will cut vacations to buy food. Some prices will rise nominally to account for the added currency and some will fall as consumers shift from discretionary toward necessary spending. Misusing “inflation” is confusing. Don’t blame consumers and the market: inflation is what central banks and governments DO, given a chance. Always have, always will, if we keep falling for their worthless (worth less and less) fiat currency schemes.

I thought David had lost his mind in 2022 when he said there would be a huge melt up as everyone else was saying we're going to have a market crash. I rarely say I was wrong but this is one time I'm happy I didn't do anything stupid like selling but when we hit these highs I'm going to look at taking some profits. Also silver miners have been a stinky investment as they're down 28 percent. If I get to break even before the meltdown, I'll take my leave of silver miners.

I agree with David's first 90%, however the part about after the crisis the world still come back to US$ makes no sense. Once the BRICKS + nations formed an alternative trading and investment currency there will be like a river of no return. If he is right in predicting US needs to print another $30T, which country would still have faith on its fiat currency? Not so fast. There is one problem with a BRICS currency, and it is a major one. The problem is TRUST. Let's say BRICS created a gold backed currency tomorrow. Tell me honestly, are you going to pull out of the dollar and buy their currency? You're going to trust South Africa, China, Russia, India, Iran, Ethiopia, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia with not pulling the rug from under your feet whenever they feel like it? No government in their right mind is going to do that. I doubt these BRICS countries even trust each other. Sure no government is 100% reliable or perfect, but the reason why the USD remains the reserve currency is because the US government still remains one of the most respected, most reliable, and most transparent governments in the world. The de facto reserve currency of the world however, is, and will always be GOLD.

If this man's forecast is $20,000 for one Troy ounce of gold, then his forecast for silver must be $20,000 for one ounce, too, at the very least. Silver stocks are diminishing fast as silver has 1000s of industrial applications as well as being used for jewellery and investment whereas gold is only used for jewellery and investment - with gold stocks remaining virtually static. The price of silver is suppressed by governments aided by powerful banking entities which fear the collapse of the US dollar as the current international reserve currency, and with it, their inordinate and undeserved power. This is now imminent and this will launch the price of silver into space and before long, even $20,000 for a Troy ounce of silver will be considered cheap.

Looking at this 3 weeks after it was made, it doesn't seem far-fetched anymore. Gold is now past 2300 and will probably continue to rise for the foreseeable future. Silver blew through 27 and is on its way to 28, 29, 30? I think reality is starting to settle in. The days of the fiat economy are drawing to a close. Even the Federal Reserve has published a paper about returning to a gold standard.

IF you invest in commodities (either physically or via equites) it's been a great time to accumulate. Steel, gold, silver, copper, cement, oil, gas, fertilizer, grains... The Russell 2000 hasn't fared well compared to the Fab Five, but sectors tend to benefit from rotation. And if you've been buying physical gold and silver since 2013, you know how that's worked out. Stay the heck away from explorers. That's like betting on $8000 claimers at Aqueduct racetrack. Give me the money if you bat from that side of the plate. I don't do drugs, only drink socially, and am an all-around nice guy.

7000 on the S&P makes complete sense to me. from there an 80% drop would be around 1500? seems preposterous but why not? when the Fed eventually starts tightening again, the bottom will fall out and why not go that far down, at least for a short time? having followed David for several years, I could see him upping that SPY 7K to 8K at some point. The melt up has taken longer than he predicted, and so I expect the melt up will be drawn out longer as well. Here's to a profitable 2024.

Some thoughts regarding the dollar: - if the dollar doesn’t have a higher inflation than 10% per year AND if that rate of inflation is reliably constant, the dollar can be used for trade. Why? Because , when trading, the deals are being made within weeks or months. Therefore a depreciation of a few percent can be calculated into the price of the deal. However, there is a political or geopolitical risk when trading in dollars. Russia is just experiencing that if a country does not behave like the US wants, the US can take those dollars away from the owner, in this case the Russians. There will be a tipping point, when countries and markets start moving away from the dollar. About 20 to 30 percent of trade has already moved away from the dollar during the last few years. That trend will speed up. Especially if there is a currency that is stable. This stability creates trust. At the moment the gold price is quite unstable and it is not predictable to what level it will go. Therefore it is difficult to define prices for a commercial deal in gold. Except if both parties own gold or own a reliable currency, i.e. a currency that is based on gold (or silver).

sounds like the savvy folks will wait for the "bust" of ALL markets before major purchases of Gold/Silver/platinum... until then keep your cash in T-bills and other short term US treasuries??? Personally i am ok with this...Am i understanding this correctly?

I think he’s right, but the price targets seem a little high. Deflationary bust, rising oil prices causing rising inflation, rock bottom rates causing rising gold and silver prices. I think the Permian will rollover too in the coming decade, causing another 2008 style oil crisis that will cause the price of oil to skyrocket. The bond market will suffer and they’ll have to do yield curve control to keep it from dying, causing even more inflation. The goldilocks scenario was always a dream. Eventually the consequences of our monetary policy will catch up with us. The corporate debt wall and under investment in commodities will bite us this year or next, and it’ll take down the economy and the stock market. That’ll temporarily reduce demand for commodities but when they stimulate, that underinvestment in commodities will flip to over investment and we’ll all get rich.

This is like economic science fiction. I expect a crash as bad if not worse than 2008 and v bad inflation but cannot see higher than 4500 gold or 100 dollars silver in next 5 years but I want to be wrong.

@@eddieogorman4482 i see, and that crash will bring a DEFLATION with markets crashing and hopefully even gold falling below $2,000 one last time to give everyone a chance to back up the truck, but than the FED will restart MASSIVE QE to pump the bubble again, and this time the QE will be even bigger than all of the COVID cheques etc.. and this will cause a massive inflation which will send gold to US$20,000+ eventually, is this about right?

What he’s talking about is boom bust economics and yes, gold will reach whatever has so will well reach whatever highs then pull back it’s what you call boom bust economics, but gold will retain more of its wealth and silver
