Nice interview Tom, I get the way you're thinking. It's good for people to see how others live. But change can only come from within. When someone wants to change that's the time to help. Then they really need to remove themselves from the environment they have been in. You're doing good work, keep it up.

That was such an informative interview ! I wish I watched this before I tuned into Saturday night's Live Streaming. I should have realized what an intentional person you are Tom. That is such a beautiful, intelligent, kind crack at the horrible evil that is addiction & homelessness. ~ Much Respect ! 🌻 Their commitment to social justice is admirable. Looks like you encountered the real deal with this gentleman ! [ I've had my dealings with this faith, and really ended up not liking the people, the ones I tried working with regarding homelessness when it started in my area 25yrs ago, I was sickened by how flakey & petty the entire lot I encountered really were. But this man is of Substance ! Very solid vibe from this man... I really hope you can get something going. I suspect you can't stand people telling you how wonderful you are, but you are. Do you think Quakers could have something to offer too?

I like their simple attitude about life, and nothing wrong with old fashioned values, but also nothing wrong with using common sense and making the most of resources and opportunities vs. following a book or "your elders". Freedom is there for a reason, and God is the essence of freedom. My favorite part of the video is the look in his eyes when he acknowledged that they have found radios in some peoples buggies 17:00. Taking drug addicts to spend time around the Amish sounds like a bad clash of cultures, neither of them know what to do with each other. But I think a farm for recovering addicts to work in community with animals, and nature, away from the city and bad influences is badly needed.

Fantastic interview. I'm not familiar with your channel, so I was expecting a conversation on the topic of gold and currency. I wonder if the Amish use the US Dollar within their communities, or how extensive their financial literacy is. I would expect that they might be slightly against paper fiat currency as opposed to "god's money" like gold or silver like some Jewish groups are.

Beauty on a Barn Budget yes, I’m assuming some communities are different. In mio it’s a little different. know this mio community does church every other Sunday and then the opposite Sunday is Sunday school which is a shorter service with lunch after. No lunch/dinner is served on church Sunday’s. And they alternate churches/houses every other Sunday so each family will host both church and Sunday school

John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. John 3:18 “He that believeth in Him is not condemned; but He that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

@@ChosenWon Psalm 9:17 " The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Acts 17:30-31 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. 2 Peter 3:9-10 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 12:48 “He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.”

@@ChosenWon Luke 13:3 “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” I don't know what your problem is man, but it is nothing the Lord Jesus Christ can't fix. I don't know what sins you have committed that have filled your soul with pride and rebellion, but they are nothing to great for Jesus to forgive. If the gospel of my Lord and my God saved a wretched soul as mine, it could save you too!
