As an ACE member, long dispatches are not something we enjoy. I am proud to say that MY average dispatch time is 37s to 48s! (97% of the time, the other 3% is guests and other employees).
@CanobieCoaster2 жыл бұрын
I'd love to try to beat that record, but I've never seen the park quiet enough to try. The reason I sometimes see long dispatches is mostly how long it takes guests to store items and get settled (same with Railblazer).

I've been on all the current GCI's operating in the US other than Roar, and for me GoldStriker is clearly the best one. I have it ahead of Renegade (#2), and Mystic Timbers (#3). Prowler and Thunderhead round out my Top 5. I first rode it back in 2018 and loved it. I rode it again in 2019 and again I loved it. I didn't find it too rough at all. I do prefer GhostRider, so GoldStriker is just the best wooden coaster in Northern California and I agree it is slightly behind RailBlazer as the best in the park. I would love to see it get relocated to Carowinds in the old Dino Alive area, but I have my doubts that it will occur. A really great wooden coaster!

By the way, this GCI runs fastest when. 1) It's HOT, the hotter it is the better. 2) the trains MUST be running for 4+ hours to warm up the oil and other components. 3) have a full train of guests (I have found that it is best when most of the trains weight is in the middle.) 4) Last but not least is when I was in control saying "The louder you scream, the faster you go!"

It's funny how less than a year after it's most recent retrack, you can feel some of the roughness coming back (not bad though, but you can feel more now compared to the start of the season). Gold Striker just runs so aggressively that it beats on the track a lot. And yes, they almost always will accommodate seating requests, which is awesome.

Positive forces on woodies is so odd. I wonder if Gene Staples has any interest in this. Niagara Amusement Park & SW has some room where the wild mouse was by I195. Given that he saved Qimera, a ride that we thought was doomed, I could see Gold Striker (and maybe one of the B&M's) being appealing to him. Plus he could always acquire more parks between now and when CGA closes, ones that might have an easier time fitting a ride the size of Gold Striker in.

Hey Canobie Coaster! I am currently planning a review on Gold Striker of my own, and was wondering if you asked/emailed CGA to use the POV, or if it is just generally accepted that you can use park's POVs without explicitly asking. Reason being that when I reached out to KI asking for permission to use their POV of The Beast, they basically told me all I had to do was give them credit and put a link to their channel in the description. I know it may sound like a stupid question, but I just want to save some time in the future. Thanks for the help!
@CanobieCoaster3 күн бұрын
To my knowledge, theme park channels have not had issues using park POVs in review videos as long as credit is given. It gives the park/ride publicity. And parks would prefer that rather than someone sneaking a camera onto a ride to get a POV.

It's a fun ride but it was running a little rough when I rode it in December. Glad to hear it got some trackwork before this season, as: a) it was needed b) it means the park will probably at least be around for another 10 years, Cedar Fair wouldn't have made the investment if they weren't planning to keep the park open. I was not optomistic about this park's future before knowing about that investment but now I am, as a lot can change in 10 years.

@@CanobieCoaster For sure, but I don't think they'll just up and close it after an investment like that. First drop is good in the back. Rest of the ride is just an endurance test. Could have used more real airtime hills but they probably wanted low turns to reduce noise for the neighbors.
