Subscribed, love the in depth review, and I always find differing opinions refreshing. And honestly your review weirdly makes me wanna get on the coaster even more than before now so I can see what I think of it. It's funny, I also love Thunderhead and Renegade (my #1 GCI and #3 woodie) so perhaps I will feel similarly

I think the main reason people consider stuff overrated or underrated is bc of their views going into the ride. I had low ish expectations bc the only other gci I had gone on is apocalypse but it was great. It could be because im pretty skinny so I dont weight much but I was getting a decent amount of airtime in the back with good lats. I have to agree with that one rough section though, that sucks. Its probably in my top 10 but that's not saying much bc I have like 90 credits.

I found the perfect way to ride it. Row 12, give yourself 1-2 extra clicks of room, and hold the restraint up the whole ride. It’s an absolute game-changer and recent maintenance has made the ride smoother on that double up

Your expectations must’ve been unrealistically manipulated. I just came back from CGA and I thought Gold Striker was one of the best wood coasters I’ve ever been on. My credit count is somewhere in the 280 range and I can definitely put this right up there with the likes of RF2, MT, GhostRider etc…Expecttions are the thieves of joy…

that’s my thing- I think most people agree with you. I don’t think it was unfair to expect a better ride experience for a ride of that reputation. it’s solid, nowhere near one of the best woodies imo.

I do get your point, however, people are allowed to feel differently about a coaster than you, regardless of your credit count lol
