Football knowledge does not seem to be important here. Obviously that first pass is a mistake on Casemiro's part, but Fernandez is jogging into a passing shadow and Mainoo is trotting out of the half space. Either midfielder could have shown short for Casemiro, but they just could not be bothered. A surprising amount of casualness on the part of various MU players contributed to all three goals. Nah, let's just blame Casemiro.

It was still Liverpool exploiting the Midfield. Mainoo lost the ball from a tackle like how Casemiro lost the ball from the 2nd Goal. It was the Midfields fault but Ten Hag had a terrible performance that should’ve been seen. Since he fell for the same tactic 3 times, Liverpool pressing the Midfield and creating an attack from it.

i think people assume ugarte will come in and walk on water, i’m not saying casemiro wasn’t at fault for those 2 goals but when u put urself in his position he had very little options. 9/10 times in the dm position u play the ball back to the centre backs or to a fullback to use the width and every time he got it the fullbacks would bomb forward so unless he wanted to pass to the centre backs every time he had to try play out. If the system is tweaked he’d do a job there, u bought in a destroyer to try and play out from the back. Endo came into liverpool as a destroyer and he was exposed at times on the ball but we tweaked the system so he’d always have a pass on, either ETH needs to do the same or he needs to go cus this’ll keep happening

Casemiro is not meant to have a 90 minute role at Manchester United. IF he starts ahead of Ugarte then he definitely shouldn't be at the club anymore. I'd let him go for free personally. Past the golden days, just another player for the United graveyard of signings. Rashford needs to go as well. Too many players with the 'giving up' mentality from previous managers that just don't cut it anymore. Collyer had 45 minutes in the Liverpool game and covered 3x the ground in half the time Casemiro did. That tells you everything.

Keep him?? It was clear Sunday that his body can't cope anymore with top football. He is too ponderous and can't keep up with the game's pace. He showed his class at Real Madrid who then fetched a massive 60mln for him, saddling United up with a super-expensive player unable to perform. Buying 29-year-old players is risky. Some players last well in their 30-s but others don't. Ilkay Gundogan, just back at City, is 34 and he is still world-class.

Past it now, and even in his pomp he played in an uncompetitive league, little more than a glorified Scots Prem where the same teams win everything domestically decade upon decade. They also qualify for the UCL every year due to their league being poor. More chance of winning it if you’re guaranteed to qualify every year, and of course, you take the confidence of spanking almost everyone in your domestic league year upon year, into your European games. Yes, they have great players but it’s too easy for them. Look at Modric, great player but won nothing in the Prem. Goes to Real and he sweeps the board.

Yes you’ve got to keep him. Not a United fan, just looking at this objectively. He had been a class player for years, and like many players, he’s come to United and played poorly. However this doesn’t mean he is a write-off. Football fans do this too much. Think a bit ore longer term. I’m a chelsea fan and I can tell you there was a very long time people thought we should sell cucurella but now nobody would want that. He hasn’t played well in the current system, but it seems you may look at getting a new manager in the near future so it will useful to have both Ugarte and Casemiro as options as defensive midfielders for them. If Ten Hag wants to change the system he maybe corporate both of them so Casemiro’s weaknesses will be minimised (which I believe will be what happens but we will see). The only argument that holds weight imo is his wages, but he’s not exactly alone in the high wage bill category.
