GV Along old deserted narrow street. GV Leigh Harbour with lots of smaller craft. GV of Southend from Leigh Cliffs and then pan to looking out to sea. Two GV exterior of New Cliffs Pavilion, a modern- looking building. GV Pan up and down large office block which is the new Civic Centre. GV Exterior of new Police H.Q. Various shots, policemen rush out and jump into their patrol cars and roar off. Various shots of entrance to Southend Pier and people entering during Southend's Golden Jubilee Day. They pass a sign announcing that the train fare along the pier is only one penny for the day. GV Southend Pier. GV Modern block of flats and houses that Southend has built for their old people.

Pretty much as I remember it. I do remember the Civic Cantre and Cliffs Pavillion being built and also the 'new' Excel Bowling Pavilion Lanes bowling alley on the pier after the old pavilion burnt down... It all seems a long time again now....
