God bless you for taking a merciful approach to keeping bears away from human areas. I hope more places adopt this tactic

They remind me of what you might get if you cross an Akita with a Border Collie. She needs to name her service "The Scare Bears".

People who love dogs will keep them indoors and spend time with them at all times. This is also because dogs feel more affection for their owners and their families who spend more time with them. Dogs that have built a trusting relationship with their owners over a long period of time are more loyal to them. If the owner or family member becomes emotionally unstable, the dog will even notice and react to it. It is understandable that when the owner of a dog dies, the dog follows in his footsteps.

Why would anyone keep their dogs inside all the time ??? Dogs love to run. They love being dogs. That doesn’t mean they show any less affection for their families.

I wish this was uploaded at the correct aspect ratio. The stretched video is annoying.

But your telling the dogs to 'find it'. How does that affect the psyche of the dog when they don't 'catch it'?

I don't think so. It's a different command, so they associate it with a different action wanted from them.

Doesn’t effect their psyche negatively at all because it’s 2 different commands and both are enjoyable and fun for them. Find it is actually very positive for their psyche. Find it in fact, is fun and much better for them because they use their nose and mouth to sniff, smell and taste the sent to find, plus they are moving. For a dog, when they are sniffing out scents, they are thinking and learning a lot. This is great for their mental and physical health that keeps them active, smart physically and mentally, and calms and tires them like exercise and learning does similarly for us. When they do find it, they are happy, excited and proud in pleasing their owner/handler and themselves. Catching doesn’t involve nearly as much for them in their mental health with thinking and learning. In some dogs, catching can cause bone problems like arthritis if they are jumping and landing too hard and too much throughout their lives. Catching is great fun that should be done only in certain quantities of time and levels for many dogs. Every dog is different so those times and levels they can handle are different for every dog. For example, the light body weight of a Boarder Collie can handle more than a big heavy dog, or not so agile dog like a Great Dane, St. Bernard, Newfoundland, Mastiff, etc.

Their job is to find it, not to catch or kill it. Hence, they are doing exactly what their instincts tell them to do and also what is asked of them. I think their owner could have used any word as a command for them to go 'find it'. It's not the words but usually the situation/circumstances and the tone of voice that matters most when giving dogs commands.
