In this video Josh and Rachael try out the Oldest Steakhouse in Las Vegas when they go to Golden Steer in Las Vegas Nevada. Here they try out the Chateaubriand for two including the famous tableside ceasar salad, and add on the amazing Cherries Jubilee Ice Cream Sundae.

I have been going to the Golden steer since 1981. My dad would take my brother and I and two friends up to Vegas once a year and it was always the highlight of the trip. Unfortunately my dad has passed away many years ago but I still keep with the tradition when I visit Vegas

Going next week can’t wait! I ate here in the mid 90s not knowing anything about the restaurant and the history. Just wandering around looking for somewhere to eat and ended up in this gem. I’ve never ever had a steak (or meal) this good since. No internet at the time and I forgot the name of the place and thought it would for sure be closed down by now. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I found out this place is still open!! The best steakhouse ever!

@@JoshRachaelit’s the short version of my story lolll I found it due to being stuck at home with sciatica last year and having all the time in the world to be online 😂😂 I always remembered how good the steak was and I wanted to see if I could somehow find the name of the restaurant. The things we do when we’re bored lol. I remembered the location as it is in not such a fancy area and in a strip mall. I also remembered walking through those doors and the inside. I couldn’t believe not only was this place still open but that it’s a Vegas landmark. Thank you so much! I am sure it’s still as good as the first time.

The tattooed knuckles brought down the table side experience for me just a few notches. Other than that, I was impressed! May try it out one day. Also, the exterior of the building…I’m all for nostalgia, but wtf…???

My favorite steakhouse in Vegas ! Love that ambiance and my god....the food. Awesome you got the Marilyn booth. That Caesar was one of the best i have ever had. The only thing that would have made it better would be fresh shaved parm. Those vegetables looked like they were cooked perfect. And that steak looked amazing as well. And the portion size is great. The service was awesome when we were there. We were so full after our meal that we could not fit in dessert at all. Next time we will save some room for that, as it looks as good as the rest of the meal. This is one of only a few places that I can say is worth the price in Vegas.

You definitely get good portions for the price compared to some of the other Steakhouses out there. We have dessert stomachs that always have room for desert - especially ice cream.

Hugo’s is old school, and I’ve loved it over the years. I’ve heard it’s lost it’s luster - I’d love to see you two what you two think. Last time I went. I had the table side prepared salad some kind of meat appetizer cooked on a hot stone, and an unbelievably flavorful jumbo Australian lobster tail. Cheers!

Wow, $270. Count me out. I just had the best steak of my life at a place called Club Phoenix and with tax and tip it cost $70 for both of us. We each had a 16 oz. boneless ribeye, baked potato, and a big salad, and we each had one soda to drink. We could eat there 4 times for what you two paid for one time.

I understand the price shock but there is no comparison to a steakhouse that cost $70 for 2 and this one. Granted you can limit a little what they ordered and get out with $200 but the experience is worth it.

@@billw5823 I disagree 100%. For me the price difference of the slightly better taste for the higher priced steak is not worth it. Lets say a really good steak dinner is $30, and a better steak dinner is $200, and the taste of the $200 steak is only 20% better, to me it is not worth paying $170 more for a steak that taste 20% better. If it is for you, more power to you. To me it is a waste of money, when the $30 steak dinner is very good too. And I can get 6 of those really good $30 steak dinners, for what you pay for one steak dinner that is only 20% better. I have went to a steakhouse and got a $100 ribeye steak dinner, and to me it was not that much better than the $30 steak dinner I had at Club Pheonix.

I went there on October 5th with my wife and I have to say we were disappointed, the drinks were excellent and the lobster was even better but the steak wasn’t good at all, we shared the 24oz New York strip and it wasn’t cooked as we requested and the waiter disappeared until he gave us our bill. Yes the ambiance was excellent and the history of the place just screamed old school Vegas, but if you’re a steakhouse and your steaks are just average for that price you’ll never see people come back. I know that the Golden Steer is always packed and we are a small percentage of people who were dissatisfied but they won’t care about it, but we won’t go back.

I hate you had a bad experience there. My experience with the top steak houses is that the NY Strip is the worst steak to order at them (it's my favorite normally). The porterhouse and ribeyes are the way to go. If it wasn't cooked to your request you should have sent it back, I know people hate to do that but at those prices you should get what you want.

Love the place for 2 reasons. 1. Food is fantastic! 2. Been there twice and still haven't payed out of pocket for a meal. 1st time I won $400 on video poker (at the bar) 2nd time I hit a Royal Flush for $1,000. Im back again soon. Is 3rd time the charm???

We have not tried before. I could see ordering one and asking for it to be cut then u could share it family style. I have requested that steaks be cut before and never had a concern. Especially with Tomahawk or T Bone I want them to cut it off the bone for us
