Golden Sun: The Lost Age - Star Magician (Optional) Boss Battle

Pants I...think...I'm...ready...for...this..!
Prepare yourself as you watch my all improved party take out the second hardest Super boss from the series! I remember when I first fought this colossus when I was level 37. I was totally wiped out due to under level. Talk about unlucky. I realize that I can't take out Star Magician (using my battle style which is without summons and djinn) unless I train harder and get better equipment sets!
The battle wasn't as hard as I thought it would be the second time after I got the equipments that I wanted. However, I really wanted to show my Isaac in this battle, yet I keep forgetting to do so in every video recording. I'll probably showcase him in the next video when I fight against Dullahan, the strongest super boss and boss in the Golden Sun series!
My party was exactly level 54 except for Felix who was level 55.

I love this boss. It always feels like one of the more engaging and cerebral battles in TLA, and while it's challenging, it never feels unfair the way Dullahan can. I remember getting salty at it the first time I fought him, 15 years ago as a kid... I didn't realize that the refresh ball would heal THAT much! But once you know, it's a great battle.

If he gets 2 of them and 2 guardian balls out at once he'll usually get all his HP back before you can kill them all

Ya, you got the general idea. The guard and refresh balls are definitely top priority. I generally let him have one or two anger and/or thunder ball. I find the thunder balls I have the easier times letting them live. Anger is all right, unless he kamikazes. If there is more than two, that's when I start taking them out. Also it's a good idea to have Mia or Jenna healing your party every turn or two. You did good :D

i've managed to kill him with felix team at lvl 34 and isaac team at lvl 37 using mixed djinni so i could spam wish well, high impact and resist. it took around 30 minutes

Just beat him after an hour and a half. I winged it second try with a terrible strat of leaving 3 guard balls and a thunder ball, and just kept wailing at him with the occasional turns the balls all missed. Lvl 29 to 31 party. This was the first and only time I died in this game, pretty easy up to him

Granite, high impact x2, forge Attack, attack, attack, pure wish Or Spamming multitarget psynergy with good elemental power gears like big bang glove etc., so you destroy all the balls and then you can hit him and destroy his new balls when they born. You need to heal of course if you take too much damage from his attacks, so you let live only earth balls while healing Also Rushing summons while using granite or other shield-damage djinn, of course rushing summ. after killing the earth balls. 1 good summon could be moloch, so you slow down his speed.

Hardest boss battle, I always avoid the anger ball to attack so I start it first with a summon 😆

Was I really that quick? I haven't noticed other people's battle video, but I can tell you that I only took out the important ones especially the guard ball and refresh ball. I learned that whenever the guard ball casts a guard aura on Star Magician, I should destroy the rest of the balls since Star Magician will be protected by the Guard Aura. Some players don't realize how important it is to take out some of the scraps before they take out the needle.

I guess it was the level. I needed to get more powerful for the final boss, so I decided to take on these dungeons. He was quite the pain in the ass at my level.

I gave up on this guy after countless tries. Most tries most of my team members got wiped out within a few turns. One time I got very far but then he summoned a refresh ball and I didn't kill it in time, therefore it revived him 1000+ points, resetting a huge amount of progress. If it weren't for that stupid ball, I MIGHT have won. The issue with this boss is the guy attacks so many times per turn, and my team members don't do what I won't until after several of his attacks. If I want my party to heal, they won't heal until it's too late.

Using aura type djinni every turn will mitigate all damage. Just set and use them between to characters

He must have done what mine did and kept summoning Guardian and Refresh balls. Nothing like nearly draining him and then having Ernest Ply cast on him several times.
