Love these examples of No drugs bodybuilders. After the WW2, it´s almost impossible find athletes like these guys.

George F. Jowett used to advertise a bodybuilding course in the Popular Mechanics which was free in the 1950s and 60s. Nothing was available to me then so I sent off for his course (from New Zealand). Incredibly I did receive a beautifully illustrated free dumbbell course from his along with a promotional book about him and his students. Both booklets were real gems and stupidly I gave the course away to another person. I kept the promotional book but over the years it has lost the front cover and is quite tatty. They would be real historical pieces now and I very much regret never having looked after them, Allan

You can still purchase his course and a bunch of other old time strength books and courses from Bill Hinbern. Reprints, but still pretty neat.

Wonderful stuff. Anybody out there know where he lived ,what his dates were??

I believe he ended his days in Riverdide Heights, Ontario Canada, about three minutes from where I grew up and approx. 1 hour south of Ottawa. There is a mural and a little museum of sorts at the recreational building.

Good vid but don`t believe what they say in the mags about the measurements ,he probably had 16 inch Arms and a 46 inch Chest because in those days they didn`t do any Bench Pressing and never had an over developed Chest like that overrated Big Headed Ego inflated Austrian what`s his name who if he was made out of Chocolate would have eat himself years ago who just happens to have 2 Statues made of himself each costing 3 Million Dollars yeah that Bollox

True, but these are measurements taken by David Willoughby from memory, who was known for debunking mythicsl measurements, even back then!

no i honestly think his measurments are not that good although i dont want to criticise his physique. It looks pretty good but i dont believe 18 inch arms or calves.

@@maonyksmohc9574 fair enough, but these measurements I believe are confirmed by the staunchest of all...David Willoughby
