+JKRU in goldeneye and perfect dark the way the physics work it makes you move faster at that angle.

+JKRU late reply, but you can move using the joystick AND have another way of moving (strafe) by using C-buttons, both movements stack on each other, so if you move and strafe diagonally, you basically have extra speed.
