I remember that I was like 10 when this came out, and I got it on my birthday. I had become a huge Bond fanatic and owned all the movies and stuff. Playing this, I wasn't really good at gaming at all back then, so everything was challenging and new. This remains my favorite Bond game

I like how the game in KZbin's description mistakenly is listed as the original 1997 N64 game when this is the completely different 2010 Wii remake. Also, the worst part about this game was them replacing Pierce Brosnan (probably the most perfect Bond besides Sean Connery himself) with Daniel Craig, whom I think is really good but has no place in Goldeneye. The film is still my favorite Bond film. Thinking about it, it was probably something stupid like they no longer had the rights to use Brosnan's likeness in Bond games or marketing's "brilliant" idea to make the Bond products "more cohesive" so they just blindly replaced Brosnan with Craig. Nothing against Craig, but I still think that was the wrong move, especially for a product trying to appeal to the nostalgia of Goldeneye itself, which revolved around Brosnan.

My parents got this for me when i was 10, and i freakin LOVED it! i played the game 2, maybe 3 times and i was satisfied. now, i play this remembering how fun this was and thought, i should play this again. so i played it and loved it all the same. Wii get's a pretty bad criticism because of choppy graphics and strange gameplay, well, this game is amazing. don't let anyone tell you different. :)

However, this game was ported to the 360 and PS3 called GoldenEye Reloaded. But I still get what your saying. I do plan to get this game for my Wii but so far I think the FPS game that works the best on Wii is Red Steel 2 since it mixes things up with first-person Wii motion Plus swordplay.

Ah, sure it's grand. I will admit I don't own CoD but I have played a bit of the single player in CoD 4 at a friend's and found it enjoyable. And every time I visit my cousin we have a death match. It's a lot of fun. But one thing I want to say is that what sets 007 apart from CoD is the fact it doesn't feel stale and feels like its own game. I dunno about any of yez but game feel matters most to me...as well as game play. And no hard feelings. :)

You may not have played this with the wii remote then. The point and shoot is (no joke) arcade smooth. If not more. I'm not saying the single player storyline is better than others, but it's just too damn satisfying to not have to wait for the cursor to go across the screen to shoot somebody.

Yes but the Wii has always seemed to not have that spice and spunk to the games it has made. What I'm saying is, is that fps games seem to fit better with the X-box and Ps3 consoles than the wii. Fps games (in my opinion) mainly belong in the X-Box group while the wii having its own genre of games into play while the Ps3 of course being more general.

Awe man. This game is just- wow. I love it. A really great remake. I don't even mind the motion controls. It feels like you're actually aiming and shooting a gun. It'll really make you feel like Bond.

Honestly to me it was a dissapointment.. i was expecting quality gameplay since it was a wii game, i wasnt expecting amazing graphics. The dialogue, voice acting, in game cinematics were nice, but to me it lacked dialogue and regular cutscenes to make it more cinematic.. the stealth was just.. there, nothing great. In the long run it felt like i was playing CoD with a Goldeneye theme.. nothing like the 64 one, or Night Fire, or Everything or Nothing.. (Leaving aside the fact that i still don't like Craig as the new bond for films or games..)

@heliosrayne Well, most games are set to where depending on witch game mode you choose you will get a different selection of maps to choose from. if its 8v8 then a map like archives wont be chosen. just like as an example, rust was never chosen on mw2 because it was only suitable for 4v4 instead of the 9v9. if there is a 4v4 mode in goldeneye reloaded for the xbox 360. then it will choose the smaller maps, maybe the larger maps. etc.

@64mariogalaxy It doesn't make it HD, HD is 720p to 1080p, the wii component cables only bring it up as much as 480p. And that won't affect the texture, effects, models or lighting cuality. It'll just look a little better in bigger TVs

Meaning that you're more likely to get the same few maps over and over again. Not only that, but tbh memorial is the only goldeneye map which i think is big enough for 8 v 8 to work.

@5324er Er, yeah. Have you never seen the movie before? In my opinion, it's been the only modern one worth giving a toss about. Also, in the game there's barely any talking, it's all action. The speaking is done via text conversations on-screen.

It would probably have been difficult to get Brosnan to voice-act this game again, seeing that Craig probably signed some contracts for this sort of stuff, and the fact that Brosnan said he was happy to have closed the book on Bond. Feel as you must about Brosnan vs. Craig, but I think the developers had little choice.

@heliosrayne we may be getting is a year later, but at least we get updates on our games, and and downloadable content. the adding in going from 8 to 12 players on there maps isn't a bad thing, its only better. the maps aren't just built for 8 people. adding in 4 more players wont make a difference, just puts you into the action a bit faster.

AGREED COMPLETELY. I've only gotten this game as of Christmas morning 2010, but I've already sunk at least 48 hours into it, combining both single and multiplayer modes. And, honestly, I've been playing the multiplayer options more. I haven't even gotten out of Africa yet. XD Seriously, though. This game is an absolute GODSEND. I played the original N64 version as a child (yeah, my dad exposed me to guns and violence at an early age), and I LOVE this new and improved update. GET THIS GAME.

Ive been playing it for the last few days and I think 9.0 is a bit strict! IM ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT! and im not a fan of FPS games at all! I'm really enjoying my futile attempts at stealthing through the levels! It is fun to see how long you can last undetected! This game has a great sense of action and atmosphere. Right from the start, you get that sense you are playing a professionally made game that had a lot of love put into it.

Offering the choice to choose both wud hav been better, becus all this has done is caused a friction between the two sides of fans now. I actually like Daniel as Bond, but why cudnt they just use this engine for Daniel in one of his OWN Bond games. It just goes to show they needed the name

I just picked this game up with donkey kong country returns. I could only afford 2 games and it was between goldeneye, sin and punishment, metroid: other m, and monster hunter tri. Ultimately, I chose goldeneye. I hope I don't regret this decision. Did I make the right choice?

i have never been into shooters, really first person ones. i rather see who i am supposed to be. i used the lightsaber most in Jedi knight games because i could see ''myself'' and it was just cooler to use the saber. yet i loved goldeneye on N64 i remember i played it allot, with the Wiimote a shooter like this could finally appeal to me even more so, just wish they kept Brosnan

I've read alot of comments about people saying Goldeneye is rippin off COD, but them seem to forget the original Goldeneye was the pioneer for all modern FPS, if that the original Goldeneye was never released I guarentee games like COD, Halo, and all FPS these days would not even exist. I love this new James Bond title, just as much as the original. Kids these days have no appreciation for the forerunners, I'm lucky to have grown up in a generation that understands this. @d00m3M4st3r I was. goldeneye 007 and starfox 64, super smash bros, mario cart, legend of zelda on the N64 and twisted metal, rogue trip, spyro, crash bandicoot, future cop LAPD Gran turismo on PSX Doom 2, duke nukem, mech warrior 2 (and mercenaries expansion), and nascar 96 on PC. Ok so the PC isn't a console its just a game port, surely you catch my drift: liking multiple consoles (as well as PC) simultaneously "back in the day" was easy. I liked multiple consoles then I still do now.

Just finished the game and loved it! A few problems here and there and maybe a bit too many quick time events and confusing movie moments (I have never seen the movie) What I really wish is if they ever make a James bond movie again that this game company releases the movie ties in a series! If that never happens, who knows? Maybe James Bond will become console exclusives... And that would be pretty sweet. Look forward to it guys! Just don't do yearly releases.

Yeah I can see that. There are plenty of ways to innovate they could have pursued. But in their defence, Goldeneye is a legendary title; there needs to be some connection to the original, maybe that's why it's a bit conservative?

I was always impressed with the graphics. While it doesn't have the textures and Gloss like Conduit 2, it has some great character models. It also has go lip synch technology which is something Conduit 2 lacks.

I have this game. The graphics are... okay, but the gameplay is awesome. I really like the multiplayer, and stealth! It is also pretty cinematic, because you GET OUT OF A SINKING SHIP, AND EXPLODING BASE, and you use a tank to explode things. I really like the game.

@Baseshocks True, but this game was a pretty good re-imagining of GoldenEye. It got some pretty good reviews and I really enjoyed this game. But then again you might be right. An actual movie remake might be a little much. It was just an idea.

I actually replayed Goldeneye on an N64 emulator yesterday. The gameplay is still fresh and the music is perhaps one of the greatest of all time. The only thing we need different is better graphics and controls... that's it. Oh and of course, online multiplayer. Shame on Acvitision for fucking up another great game.
