I remember being a fan of this project since it's first release of the antimatic, I waited with anticipation but patience and I was not dissapointed. I would agree on most of your points, though I didn't mind the amplifications of the sound in the areas as it kinda made my heart beat faster in anticipation? I'm weird like that I guess.

I love the original Lullaby for a Princess, and the Luna one. There's even duet I'd love to prefer some day. Along with Children of the Night and The Moon Rises being fun to watch and listen to, especially when writing new characters. Songs being my main inspiration for so many of my characters. Anyway it's awesome seeing you review a fanwork again Golden Fox. Can't wait to see your next video whatever it may be. Sweetest wishes to you and Key Frame. And have pleasant days as well. ^^

Go to see you giving some fanworks that deserve recognition. And Lullaby for a Princess was definetely one of them.

I have both Lullaby for a Princess and the Moon Rises on my spotify and I play it *every time* I go out somewhere, whether it's work, grocery shopping or just for a walk. Yeah, I love those two songs that much and I love that you did a review on them. Great work.

^_^ Great job again dude. You give praise where it is due and all the necessary critiques that allow for expansions rather than anything believed to be an attack on the project. Looking forward to what you review next in the fan projects.

Very good job on this man. I always loved that animation when I first saw it, but my god I listen to this ghostly version of the song, and it was gorgeous.

I love the music video. Seeing the gears in Celestia's head and her grief are so impactful. And seeing baby Luna being tucked in during those memories... my heart 😭

I liked your review of this fan- work. Would love to see you do a review of “The Moon Rises” by Duo Cartoonist. Considering the animation program that was used for that fan- work is what was used for the MLP Movie. Love to see what you think about it, and keep up the good work.

Yay! Fan Work Reviews! Do you think you can do a review of The Moon Roses Animation by Duo Cartoonist. That’s one of my favorite Fan Works, even with this one.
@Zodia1956 жыл бұрын
My only critique was with the panning shots involving Celestia's mane, they looked a bit 'chunky' rather then flowy. Still I consider this the best made MLP fan video. (My fav fan work though is still Beat It PMV by Animated James, maybe you can review that one?)

I never noticed that hair thing. I did however notice that Celestia is missing pieces of her jewelry in several scenes and missing her wings in the final scene.

Will you be able to review “The Fall of Sunset Shimmer” animation film by Minty Root?
@Lecog6 жыл бұрын
This is probably my bias as I am a sucker for good animation, but Lullaby for a princess both as a fan animation and a musical, has aged very well, I've yet to see something that even tries to do what Lullaby for a Princess even did. In any case, good overall view of my personal favorite fan-work!

@reido3876 жыл бұрын
Only point I disagree with is the point over their shouting not being heard or synched, I think its because this is a retrospective, Tia is looking back over how she went wrong, which is why the song is synced to her lips moving in the "present" day.

Wait, you put "poor Jan Animations" in the Buttons clip. I thought they were doing well. What happened? I've been out of the fandom for a long time, so I'm sure I missed a ton. I was hoping they'd move on to bigger animation studios, given their incredible talents.
@GoldenFoxPictures6 жыл бұрын
To give you cliff notes, Jan got a Cease and Desist letter from Hasbro to discontinue Buttons Adventures, being that it was a trademark violation. What's worse was that he was tossed around with different people when trying to gain a compromise for the series and eventually he got ignored.

Somehow I never had any issues with "not lipsyncing" with the flashback of Celestia arguing with her sister. It adds a layer of disconnect that NEEDS to be there to keep it a flashback. It's not like they were lipsyncing the lyrics during their fight. And the only word that mattered in an otherwise meaningless conversation was Celestia saying "no" - which was conveyed with emotion and very little room for misinterpretation. It's just Celestia thinking of the past while singing the lullaby in the present. It might require a sort of mental multitasking, but that is required anyway, as when Celestia sings about the limelight taking over her mind, which is why she had that conflict, Luna's mind was being taken over by darkness in the scene of the past. It's a sense of parallelism that really made that scene work for me. But as I said, it takes pretty much splitting your mind in two, taking in the lyrics and visuals separately, which is arguably not something you should expect a general audience to do. I certainly didn't do that on my first viewing, and my experience WAS diminished as a result. If I had been more active mentally, and not in the process of being floored by a quality that I had literally never seen anything close to before in the fandom, I might have done better, but still. Writing or producing video for a general audience while still keeping interesting devices in your work is a challenge. My only nitpicks (other than that part with her hair) is near the beginning, where her front legs look almost boneless, and some of the shading decisions (or sudden lack of shading in her face). Oh, and the transition between the real moon and the fake moon above Luna's bed was... a little rough. It could have been smoother. However, I do want to mention that this remains the top fan work I have seen, period. Even The Moon Rises, which comes very close, is just behind it.
@allenholloway51094 жыл бұрын
@Louisa Hansen Oh, totally. Like I said, it remains at my top for a reason. I was just using my own artist perfectionism to critique something I like, which I do a lot, as well as defending it against a nitpick that I felt didn't really deserve the emphasis it got.
