I tried PEQdb and I was floored. I compared a dusk eq, that Paul Wasabi recommends vs the Dusk dsp default vs the peqdb eq. its not even close. peqdb smashed the others with ease. I was like "wow, he just gifted the audio community something pretty unique. And for free!" Then I started watching some of your older videos in a different context. Then it hit me... these dudes over here love audio, Sharur is obsessed with it. So I thank you man, keep up the good work.

Look, he's got a point, I don't condone any harassment or false claims but even if you have your proprietary technology behind, you can and companies do provide technical datasheet for their products while keeping your implementation hidden. It's like putting the list of ingredients on any commercial food product, even if you know what's inside and the general relative quantity you'll never be able to replicate it. Companies like OpenAI, Microsoft or even Intel do this all the time and even if there are copycats, first of all, they could have done it without any specification, second if the technology is truly revolutionary it wouldn't matter. Look at the Microsoft RDP protocol for example, Microsoft gives the documentation bit by bit for how certain packets must conform to but there's not a single line of code available.

On that note, almost every piece of software that is bleeding edge is open source, and only THEN will closed source software come after it with a pretty UI or whatever.

@@niccster1061 Ditto; open source software has been the cornestone of my career for the past 15 years (hence the name). Proprietary software is typically only found in front-end/user-facing software, and "enterprise" software that's cobbled together using open source tools. Pretty much everything else is open source, and for the few exceptions, the industry eventually converges on open source.
