It's crazy how i can't tell if you're joking or not : on one side, you made peqdb, wich is impressive and i love it, and you also say a lot of smart things (pretty normal for a stanford student), but on the other hand, you're saying that you're a genius and that everyone is a moron, there's a truth to it because not a lot of people can pay 80 000$ a year for school, either you're just joking, and it's very funny, or you're not, and that's makes you someone who thinks they are special because they are going to one of the best university.
@yeukyeukou51307 сағат бұрын
It's frightening how catastrophic is your argumentation ! At 4:34 you show an inconsistency between 711 and 5128. The normal conclusion would be : there is at least one measurement rig that is inconsistent BUT both can be inconsistent and there is no reason to consider that the problem come from the 5128. You claim that the problem comes from the 5128 without justifying because it suits you but you are as biased as the one that you are debunking. In the best case you are dishonest and in the worst case you're just catastrophic in reasoning and consequently in math. I was sure that all stanford students were able to do simple reasoning but you proved me that it is not the case. Very disappointing... (I am extremely serious if you really believe in your argumentation it is worrying)
@sharuraudio6 сағат бұрын
you are completely delusional and have no idea how sound works. It's obvious that the 5128 is the inconsistent rig because of the rocking modes it exhibits when measuring IEMs. This is well documented but chooses to be ignored by certain individuals to push their narrative

I used to love membrance keyboard but after a few years of using mechanical keyboard with red cherry switches (not a crazy expensive one), I think I like the mechanical keyboard more. It's just preference. I can now type faster with my mechanical keyboard than the membrance one. I keep 2 keyboards with the desk, the mechnical and a membrance key Dell keyboard. Both are good but the mechnical one is more comfortable for me. I saw people collect keyboards but it's just taking up too much space. In the end, it's just preference, not stupid. However, anything excessive is stupid. Nobody needs 10+ keyboard for 1 or 2 computers. Having 3 to 4 is already a lot. I agree with the audio hobby. My brother is one of those people but he has absolutely no idea about electronics and how a simple resistor works. I tried to convince him (as an electrical and electronic engineer myslef) that him spending $3000+ on an vacuum tube amplifier is stupid. Maybe I am deaf but I can't hear any difference. Even if someone can hear the difference, I doubt that tiny difference worth $3000+.If his audio source is not good, amplifier just doesn't make any different. He talk about there are filters in the amp....yes, I know about filters as he seems to forget I am an EE as he speak....Class A, B, AB, C and E amplifiers etc. Doesn't matter.... filtering a signal changes the signal, not "improve" it. doesn't make it more "clear" when it comes to sound. Some people knows nothing, don't want to learn the science behind it but just want to be preceived as cool af. The only thing I like about keyboard is wireless protocol. Last time I check, various manufacturer try to improve latency and avoid 2.4gHz interference as 2.4GHz is cramping with many different signals / usage. I think they are changing frequency... but some are thinkingabout 5GHz.....yet, sooner or later it's gonna be as crowded as 2.5gHz. Should FCC allow a specific frequency for peripheral I/O devices and seperate it from bluetooth audio devices would be nice.

I have some serious questions. Very recently, shortly before you introduced PEQdB, you presented the so-called "Endgame" IE target (your words). But this is markedly different from the PEQdB target in that it has much less ear gain between 1 - 4 kHz and much more subbass below 100Hz. So it is already proven wrong? Although it was endgame? I cannot believe that the overall target with thousands of people listening comes up with such a high ear gain, which is as high as Harman2019IEv2 at 3 kHz. that is just shouty. As you said befor3 PEQdB. And I agree.
@sharuraudio2 күн бұрын
yes i was wrong. endgame ie can be hit with peqdb

i think you don't understand the source of the difference between 5128 and 711 measurements. the iems' behavior can itself change depending on the rig used, so you are not just seeing the how the different rigs measure, but also how different rigs interact with different iems.

People fall for the audiofoolery because they build their identity around chasing the elusive pinnacle of sound. They are not interested in logic, as they want their audio gear to make them feel special and part of an elite club. And then there is the buying addiction.

I noticed that peqdb has no protection against ddos and bots. So someone can launch bots and statistically change the average curve. Just use passive verification from reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare service. Nobody likes to solve puzzles to get access, it's not convenient

If there are no new targets, then how would the IEM manufacturers will manufacture their next IEM? Will buy a new IEM if the manufacturer says that "Our new IEM follows the same old curve & sounds similar to that you might already own" 😅😅 So, Influencer will come with a new curve, they will hype that curve like it's the best curve in the world. Then the manufacture will come up with the IEM having that same curve & sometimes even collab with them for even more profit. Influencer will hype that IEM like it's the best thing in the entire world & BOOM ..... Money !!! for both the parties.
