I went through the same fun with my '76 XL175. LOL, wiring is super fun, especially when the previous owner hacked it up. LOL Good times!

Wiring tip: Cut bundles of wire like your rectifier at different lengths, so that you dont end up with a "bunch" when you put it all together

You learn a lot with these old bikes...I did...I have always been a car guy...Retirement gave me the time to self teach me, to fix and restore old dirt bikes...If you look at my channel you will see the projects I worked on...

Blinkers is such an American thing to call them it bkinks so blinkers. Here in the UK we call them indicators because they indicate which direction you intend to turn x

When I restored my 74 Honda Trail 70, with the 6 volt system...The battery acts as a voltage regulator in that if you run the bike without the correct battery the bikes charging system will blow all your 6v bulbs...

Buddy, you should be doing all that work with battery power unplugged.
@GoldGuyRides2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you're right, I didn't think of that. That would have saved me a few fuses haha.

Good job mate I know how you must feel doing the wiring but at least you have a wiring diagram lol, when I was doing my Z1900 half the harness was missing so it took a long time to complete but when all done it was like factory😅👍all the best to you mate and love the videos cheers🍻👍🏍

Pretty sure the wiring harness is supposed to sit in the cable rest hooks on top of the oil tank. Good video!

Hello, very good us videos, especially I identify with your yamaha, I have a wr 400 enduro and watching your videos gives me the impression that it closely resembles the initial problem of your yamaha 450, kick and kick and does not start. Where can I get the manual for my motorcycle and where do you buy your spare parts? Thank you and here we follow you, great your channel ....

On my old Honda the middle position on the contact switch is off. Turn it counterclockwise to turn the ignition on, and clockwise for parking lights. Don't know whether the new switches are wired the same. Also, some US Hondas had front running lights. Maybe that's what the mysterious black wire is for?
@GoldGuyRides2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. The mt250 isn't meant to have a 3 position switch though, that's why it kept blowing fuses.
