Hey, when Toby's fur falls out in the spring, take the downy underfur and you can make stuff out of it. One time I had a hole in my boot and it was zero degrees outside - my feet were so cold! And I remember reading how shepherds take the fur of sheep and shove it in their boots. And I had my husky down and put it in my boots, no more freezing feet. Felt like a brand new pair of Ugg boots, to be honest. Also, the fur is sweat wicking - your feet will sweat, sure, but the moisture dissipates. Weird, right? Anyway, you can comb the fur into wool strands and then spin it into yarn. It's rather nifty.
@lilolmecj4 жыл бұрын
BlackSeranna I half wish I knew how to spin yarn, my dogs shed really soft underfur.
@Boredchinchilla4 жыл бұрын
You can make it into yarn, but it is way too warm to make anything out of. We used Samoyed fur and made mittens that were so warm you couldn’t keep them on- and we were in Maine! We finally just used it as details on socks (the froth on a beer) and a sweater (just a fluffy dog), which made it much more useful.

It is fun to watch the ducks head to the pond....it's almost like children seeing the beach and wanting to be first in the water. I hope the pond stays full all year. Those black ducks are beautiful but then all the ducks are. Stay well and have a Blessed day.

My college has a pond full of Mallards and swans that I feed peas and seeds and I love them. Unfortunately, we had to leave campus due to the coronavirus and I miss them, but I’m glad I have the quacken to keep me from having duck withdrawal. Someday after I have a steady job, I’ll make sure to get a house with a big yard so I can take care of a few ducks/geese. We have 6 Cayuga ducklings (hopefully all female!) - just hit 3 weeks old today. I know we have a while to wait for the eggs. We named them Dethquak (as a collective), and they have been growing so fast! I don't envy that cold weather though. It's been getting into the 80s during the day so I've been letting them forage outside under supervision. It's definitely nice to let the little stinkers out to watch them learn to swim!

Im heaving some of the same issues atm, due to this pandemic i want to increase the amount of chickens i have. But non of my hens seem to agree yet, im going to let my hens incubate and raise the chicks all naturally. The hatching period plus 1 or 2 days require extra attension, if needed i help chicks to get out of the eggshel because if they take to long they might get crushed by the hen. Once the chicks and hen leave the nest keep an close eye on the most dominant hen in your flock, last year i had a bad fight between the "alpha" hen and the mother hen and that had never happend before. Thanks for your videos and stay save all.

I watched a series on Netflix of organic chefs and organic farming. The farmer grew red peppers and dried them and added the pepper powder to the feed for his birds. It turned the yolks inside red. He sells them for a hefty amount to restaurants as a delicacy because the peppers add capcasin, which is a natural pain killer and anti inflammatory.
